  1. I bought a factory grip (molot style) from another forum member. It seems like it wont be compatible with a tromix/css DIY trigger guard. Is my assumption correct? I'm wondering what DIY trigger guard will work. And by work, I mean wont get in the way of the bushing + screw i need to buy for the new grip.

    Magwells

JT engineering is rumored to be in middle of making a magwell that accepts mags + drums. (At least I think its JT)
  3. The 200 you speak of were not 030's and really no different than the IZ-433 available now (sans the gas block rail) I went ahead a bought a few while they are available I'm considering buying one, but I don't want to invest if they're going to be a standard offering now.
  4. 1. It is my understanding that no mag well (of any type) accepts drums currently. It is not like the JT magwell, in that its the factory offered one and apparently a pain to install. 2. No idea, someone else may have experience. I ordered one from Russmilitary and will find out soon. 3. Sorry. 1 out of 3 isn't bad. Good luck
  5. It looks like prior to Q1 of 2012, the 030 model was rare. There was talks about only 200 available, and they were being sold for $1500. In addition, the front rail was preventing them from coming in under the "sporterized" requirement. Anyone know how how plentiful these rifles are? I'm wondering if I should pick one up now if they'll be harder to get.
  6. I didn't realize I was creating an infamous thread at the time. We're all a bit wiser now.
  7. (SOLD PENDING FUNDS) I'd like to sell you a "band" new one, but all I have is this "brand" new one. I've recently come to the conclusion that the black hole in my wallet (known as my Saiga 12) needs more room to expand. I am offering my brand new, in box, Saiga 7.62 model IZ-332 that I purchased a month ago from Legion. This is the one with the pre-converted frontent for that oh-so-sexy original AK styling. This was purchased for $469. I am offering it for $450 (OR BO) AND free shipping, a STEAL. I recall that fedex ground is the best way to go with shipping rifles. I had a
  8. I hate to say it, but the regulations promulgated by the ATF (see my previous post) have no mention of intent. Being in possession of an SBS is a strict liability offense. In strict liability terms, your mind state DOES NOT MATTER. For example, take the crime of rape. Rape has no "intent" component because rape is rape. For some interesting bed time reading google "mens rea" for more on that subject. A statute absent a mens rea term is naturally a strict liability offense, Go ahead and read the statute: 26 USC § 5845 Notice that this statute considers mere possession to be enou
  9. This thread has lived so long that the porn spammers have taken notice of it. Lets wait for someone to post an updated letter with the specific questions we need answered. I did some research and I couldn't find a federal (or state) case where someone was tried for cutting their own barrel and then attaching a brake device. That doesn't mean much though, considering most felony charges are plead out.
  10. Do you guys have a link to a good tutorial on reloading?
  11. I mangled my last BHO removing it from the dreaded "stuck" position. Pauly will notch the one I'm sending, I'm sure.
  12. I finally caved and sent Pauly my bolt + other parts. If it continues after I get them back, I will implement the suggestions you guys made. Thanks!
  13. Although I said I was done with this thread, it appears anew with non-confrontational discussion. For that reason, I'm breaking my rule. http://www.atf.gov/p...8-chapter-2.pdf Seems to corroborate the letter's contents, as well as validate that silver solder choice of attachment. However, I am going to agree with Mike @ Lone Star and say that you would be smart to get your own letter. The letter is now well outside of the reasonable period you could rely on it (maybe 12 months at best). And in case future readers find that link un-workable: (Emphasis provided)
  14. I use CSS for 99% of the parts I buy. CSS is SUPER fast with shipments and getting back to you with answers. I had one defective part out of my orders and he was extremely quick with a replacement. This is a top notch seller and deserves this community's business.
  15. I concur with GunFun's love of the Autoplug - its a great addition. Since I've drilled my holes it has been really nice to just set it and leave it alone. When I first got it I thought it would solve my FTE issues. But, turned out I needed to do gas work. Now its a compliment to the gun.
  16. Why is the default to go to insults? Excellent display of professionalism Mr. Vendor. How hard is to fathom someone who might be inexperienced with guns, but experienced in law? I searched for the answer to my question and didn't find it. Go ahead and give me a link to where someone asked if loctite was sufficient. My original question was about loctite and everyone chimed in - I had a right to respond and ask questions. Most, not all, were willing to give an answer and help me to be better informed. This may be readily apparent to you, but I am just learning the ins and outs. You
  17. I can respect adhering to the law as the punishments for this offense are stiff. However, if you Lone Star sell a short barrel + perm attached brake, the buyer of that weapon is under zero obligation to explain that to the ATF. If you have affixed the brake on to the end, its now a 18''+ inch barrel. I'm not advising that anyone brake (Freudian slip) the law, however, its not fair to say that even, someone who had it legally done, now has the burden to show he had it done legally. So you're going to stand there (figuratively) and argue with someone who does this for a living. Now

  19. The potential 10 years in Club Fed, might put a damper on things. Nothing gets people going like talking about shortening a barrel. Anyone have a report of one of these inadvertent SBS owners getting prosecuted? Anyways, yes, I will be cutting it down on my own. I've read the tutorials and have all the parts needed. However, I may only remove an inch off my 19'' barrel. FYI. The total was around $30 for the die, die holder and guide. You came in here asking if loctite was ok for permanently attaching a brake. Not meant as in insult, but that question leads me to belie

  21. This is exactly the type of suggestion I was looking for. It seems you coat the threads then heat up the brake + barrel where they make contact. Not so bad! worse case is I have to bring it to a gunsmith after. Actually, worst case is being prosecuted.
  22. NO, and... what can a non-welder do to accomplish permanently affixing it?
