  1. The problem is, AK and AR fights never isolate variables.

Which AK? Which AR? Different brands are different.

Which ammo maker? The same? Different? Different ammo brands are different.

Which shooter? The same? Others? Different shooters are different.

    Conditions? The same? Different?

All I can say is that, in general, based on commonly available ammo types, and typical sources of firearms,

and typical sights and triggers and fit and finish and tolerances, that an AR is USUALLY a tighter toleranced rifle with

better accessories and better ammo, and will shoot somewhat more accurately.

However, there are damn good AK pattern rifles out there, and there are shitty ARs, which will throw it all off.

My answer to AK47, AK74, AR15, or AR10 is a big yes, please.

  2. What I miss, and it's shown even in this thread, is tolerance for other's views. Some people think

that whites should stick with whites, and blacks should stick with blacks, etc, etc. 50 years ago, everyone thought

this way, but nowadays, if you don't endorse the latest trendy taboo breaking, you're backward, prejudiced, bigoted,

or whatever word the progressives can come up with to smear those who don't like their latest thing.

Mark my words, relationships with farm animals are next. I find it hypocritical in the extreme that people DEMAND that others

accept their beliefs while totally trampling on the beliefs held by those other people.

I personally don't care what others do, but, damn me if I don't have a right to think what I want about every issue.

  3. I miss the early days of the internet, when there was nobody above 30 on it, and you could say what you wanted,

without the government or some 50 year old keyboard commando moderator getting butthurt.

I miss when people could either work for a living, or do without. I miss the public perception that if you didn't hold down

a job and provide for you and yours, that you were worthless.

I miss the days before political correctness. Giving someone something because of the color of their skin is wrong, no matter what.

    I miss carburetors.

  4. Mad props on the shark. That is bad ass. What kind of shark is it?

As a Florida native, a couple things. Wild boar is what yuppies call them. The term is "hog." "Boar" is a gender

of the hog, sow is the other. Pig is an acceptable substitute for hog.

Proper use: We went pig hunting this morning. <How'd you do?> I shot two boar hogs and a sow.

Yes, I know wikipedia calls them wild boar, but the people who use wikipedia aren't the ones who shoot them.

Second, a hog is not a trophy animal in Florida, or elsewhere. Now, if you get a big one, sure, mount those tusks

on a plaque and enjoy telling the story, but, as you did point out correctly, they are classed as exotic nuisances, like

armadillos. Thus, you can shoot many, and often, but even a 500 pounder is no trophy compared to even a 6 point buck

    in most people's eyes.

Now, I don't hog hunt, I deer hunt and turkey hunt, along with duck, dove, gator, rabbit, and squirrel. However, hogs

are always fun as targets of opportunity.

Hog meat can be good under certain circumstances. Shoot the sows and the piglets. If you see momma pig and her litter, blast

momma, and the piglets will stick around, allowing them to be picked off one by one. You shoot a piglet first, momma and rest of litter

will run. Corn feeding is legal in FL. Try to line up 2 or more for your first shot. Big boars are bad meat...shoot them in the guts so they run

off and die elsewhere so you don't have to pull them off with the truck.

Recommend you get FL resident deer and turkey license and get on a lease and hunt them. Gator is done via lottery and is hard to get.

If you get overrun by pigs on the deer stand, light em up, or road ambush them someplace. You can hunt deer with anything with ten round

or under mag. Many people will claim that the Soviet round or the 223 is good for deer; I've chased too many through swamps for my liking after

someone shoots one with those; I prefer 30-06, .270, or at least a .308 for deer. My record is 4 pigs, 1 shot, from my deer rifle (30-06).

Florida deer season is long and awesome. I would also suggest getting bow or crossbow, as that lets you start earlier, as does muzzleloader.

    Sorry to ramble.

  5. I fly the "Bonnie Blue" Flag instead of the "stars and bars" so as not to be associated with the racist hillbillies stereotypes.

Just for historical accuracy, Juggernaut's flag is not based on the "Stars and Bars", it is based on the "Army of Northern Virginia" Battle Flag designed by Gen. P. G. T Beauregard, just one of the Battle Flags used by the South.

this is the "Stars and Bars"

    starsandbars.jpg

As for the original question, I probably wouldn't wear it out of respect for my family members who fought and died for the south.

I wouldn't wear it. Then again, I probably wouldn't buy any shirt, so it doesn't really matter.

The above post is correct, sort of. The rectangular flag was Forrest's and the Confederate Navy Jack. Lee's flag was square, but was

the same idea. The rectangular flag is unofficially known as the Southern Cross.

  6. I think many people are horrible in all generations. I've seen worthless retirees (which isn't an accurate term as they never held a job)

and genius kids that will conquer the world. I've seen slacker kids living off of momma's dime, and old gentlemen who maintain squared away

homes, go to church, and golf, but 70 years ago stormed machine guns for our future.

A good receptionist is essential. You don't pass the waiting room door into the office unless the receptionist approves. That

works for professional offices, not sure how a tattoo parlor would do that due to space and overhead.
