  1. I should have gone oil engineering for more money. Auto engineering is clean, safe, and dry, but pays less.

I have to be in Cinci on Mon AM for meetings. 3 hour drive tomorrow, I can do mileage, but no pay for travel

outside of work hours. Soon you can log travel as part of the "casual hours" which are gay little things that mean

you have to give time to the company before getting extended or overtime.

Wage guys get screwed, but low level salary gets gang raped, no lube.

  2. The lady should have respect for the court.....

but then again, we have courts that do not respect the Constitutional rights of the people.

How do we hold the judges in contempt?

At some point it becomes difficult to respect the enforcement & judicial system of a corrupt government.

The court does not require your respect, just your adherence to the rules.

Freedom of speech is part of what the First Amendment protects. There are certain speech elements that are illegal.

    -Slander.

    -Fighting Words.

    -Classified information

    -Inciting violence or a panic.

    Amongst others.

When you are in court, you are addressing not a Judge, you are addressing the Court. This is the law of the land, and,

as an American citizen, you undertook an implicit social contract by being a US citizen to obey it. This is why the sovereign

citizen movement holds no water; the instant you benefit from society (ie being born) you are required to obey the rules

    or face the consequences.

As such, if you disrespect the Court, you are breaking the law, then and there, with witnesses. It is illegal to disrupt the court,

freedom of speech does not apply because it is a legal exception that most everyone understands.

The woman should have politely asked the Judge for a solution because the court prevented her from returning home. This

is why you have a lawyer. The lawyer will ask for reasonable things, and the judge must grant them, or provide reasonable

    logic why not.

This issue is a non-starter. It is not an abridgement of your rights, and there are much worse things to be upset about, so go

get Tea Partying on some other aspect more worthy of your time and effort.

  3. Eastwood is a badass actor, but not a martial artist like Norris and Van Damme, and others.

However, if you want to rate badass cowboys for fast draw, Lee Van Cleef was 1 frame faster on the draw

than Eastwood. But, the faster draw was Trinity, because they removed frames from it.

The best Norris joke is: Chuck Norris always has sex on top, because he never fucks up.

  4. Supposedly it's a real thing

It fires both, which makes it both illegal, and dumb.

Actually it's not,  look close, 2 triggers.

One press of trigger shoots more than one round. If the trigger has two trigger spurs, but they are connected, it's still one trigger.

And it is different from shooting two pistols, which requires pressing the triggers the same times as the number of shots.

  5. My old man, grandpa, and one uncle served. They all made it home. My great great grandfather, the first

guy with my name, served and made it home, too. I'm lucky, and all those fallen men mentioned above are

    better men than I.

I have a question, and I hope it's ok, but I look up while writing this at the 8x5 American flag on my wall.

I found it in grandma's house, and we think it is my granddad's flag from the funeral in the mid 80s.

My dad doesn't recall if the casket had a flag on it, and I don't blame him. He was Army Corps of Engineers,

served during the second war, and lived on for another 40 years. I like this flag on my wall, and when I move,

I'll put it on another wall. Is that all right? Is a flag box with it folded the right thing to do? If I ever get a flagpole,

can I fly it once in a while, like Memorial Day? I think when a casket flag is done with its duty, it's a normal flag

again with sentimental value, but I could be wrong.

  6. If you don't allow kids to play games, then you're going to raise a psycho. Sorry, that's how it is. Kids are kids. They need to play.

Video games and nerf guns are where it's at. They determine what is cool and fun, not you.

Teach them gun safety. Teach them that a gun is not a toy. It is ok to point a toy gun at someone in play or training; that's why

they exist, and if you ever want your kid to understand ballistics, leading, and moving targets, you need to let him at that nerf gun.

The difference between a toy and a gun is night and day, and all kids will understand and appreciate it, provided YOU understand

    and appreciate it.

The only bad habit I picked up from playing the world's most popular First Person Shooter game ever for 10 years was wanting

the guns in the game for my collection.

  7.

I will never understand the logic of banning a stock Saiga that is permissible to import under Federal law that already regulates acceptable configuration.  What do the "evil" features have to do with criminal activity involving weapons?  It's all about trying to do away with guns by whatever means necessary.

Because a S-12 was in Adam Lanza's trunk.

    No other reason.

If I may, sir. "Because we are led to believe a Saiga-12 was in..." etc etc.

I don't like the discrepancies in the portrayal of events of that day.

  8. We have a lot of non-hunters responding. The first question that no one asked is are you stand hunting, or walking?

All the hunting I have done in south Texas is deer blind and feeder, with the feeder set about a hundred yards away.

In that instance, I would take as much gun as you can. .308 is what I would consider the bare minimum for deer hunting.

Yes, a lot of deer have been killed with the 30-30, but it's a very old round, and there are much better.

Any intermediate cartridge is inappropriate for the larger of medium game, meaning whitetail and larger. There are superior

cartridges available, and the only two arguments that can be made for them (can't handle any higher recoil) or (it's the only gun

I have and I can't afford another) really don't hold any water.  I certainly don't mean to dig on anyone here, but you use the

tool for the task, and a semi-auto rifle of iron sights and large box mag and bayonet mount and stubby barrel is a defense weapon,

and while I DO own them, I don't take them hunting.

All that being said, of your choices, take the .308. Go to the store, buy a box of premium ammo. I recommend soft points,

although flex tips and Noslers work well too. I have always shot 165 BTSP  (that's boat tail soft point) 30-06 rounds from

Federal in their premium line (red box) in my deer rifles in the caliber. The 150 grain 308 in that line should serve your purpose.

Please shoot a few rounds first. Do you have a scope for that rifle? If so, please use it. Iron sights are stupid on a deer rifle.

Hunting is not battle; you need to select the deer, and you can lose it in between binoculars and getting an iron sighted gun up.

Don't think you need binocs either? Congrats, that short necked doe you saw by itself 100 yards off was a 2 inch spike, and you

    just shot an illegal deer.

Without going on too much longer, I have always found the endorsers of small cartridges being acceptable for deer hunting to

be people that either like tracking wounded deer for miles, or novices. Although my current state, with its silly laws, makes me use

a short cartridged rifle, I grew up with 30-06 being the deer cartridge, although I have played with 7mm Rem Ultra Mag a few times,

which is a lot of fun.

  9. Got one over Christmas from my dad's accountant's collection he is selling some of. Paid very, very little for it,

and I am aware of the quality concerns over the carbine. It is the later version, with the slotted bolt, and the

twin recoil springs. It is in good shape, and after field stripping and cleaning the bolt and other parts, as well as

dealing with small dings of rust here and there, I think I can turn it into a light duty plinker range toy/varmint/teaching rifle.

From what I understand, one should observe the bolt for signs of stress failure beginning.

This is one of the last ones made, so, while it does have the windowed bolt and the modification to the ramp for the firing

pin to be held back that is less aggressive than the USGI pattern, it does have the later Universal only bolt design, with the

firing pin inside the bolt's footprint. This, although not hardened and being able to be worn to unsafe levels, is described as

an improvement for out of battery firing solutions.

I intend to shoot it singly a few times to test and to generate some brass, then think the solution seems to be testing some primed

cases with the bolt in various staging of rotation, to see if it will fire out of battery. I think this bolt design change, and the low

use this rifle has had will probably make it all right, but it shall always be a safety glasses and not spamming the trigger rifle.

    Any thoughts or stories appreciated.

Oh, edit: slotted/windowed, prone to cracking OP ROD, not bolt.

  10. Carry a sidearm for poachers. If you're doing your part, you should see all game before they see you.

MT, allow me to throw a little Florida native light on your list: Coyotes won't bother you unless you're almost dead already,

pigs will run like hell, and you will never, ever see a Florida Panther. There's like 150 alive total. Bobcat, sure, but they'll run too.

Worry about black bear on the high ground, and gators in the swamps. Maybe some rancher's pissed off bull, lol.
