MKA 1919 Receiver Pin Location -
Thanks Greg, I'll keep checking your site for updates. In the meantime I think I'll fab something from the Remington 1100 Combat Handle that Brownells has, welded to the shaft of the OEM handle.

Jim, have had one of your charging handles on backorder thru Centerfire for quite awhile, can you tell me when you'll restock them ?
-
Yep, exactly like that... That's what the first one looked like before it was replaced. The photo I posted is of the second failed part a few months later... I shoot slugs at things that look like they need BIG HOLES in them ! Jim, just purchased your forearm and charge handle from CenterFire, says the charge handle is on back order, any idea when you'll ship ?

Has anyone experienced failure of the Drive Block on their MKA other than myself ? This is an early serial no. MKA which I purchased about a year ago and only run 1500+ fps slugs through it. First failure was noticed during cleaning after a range day of 100 - 150 Winchester Rack Master 2 3/4" Slugs which appeared as a small "blowout hole" and hairline crack on the underside of the Drive Block along what appears to be either a weld seam or forging seam. At that time, I had run about 400 to 500 rounds through the gun over three months without any signs of failure. I contacted Clyde at R

FoxHound; maybe that was the difference, I started the job after drinking 6 beers and it went like clockwork. Thanks for the kudos on the gun BTW. Kirch76; yes I made that mag in my shop at home, had a 3" that I wasn't using so I bastardized it for the lower portion, welded it to a 2 3/4" mag and voila... The tough part was getting inside to smooth the joint... It only carries 9 shells since I had to cut the 3" at a point that followed the curvature of the lower portion of the 2 3/4" mag. I'll post a closeup pic of it when I get a chance.

Thank you both for the guidance, I was pleasantly surprised that it was a simple procedure. I was expecting a battle and only got an argument. I also did a trigger job before reassembling the gun and boy oh boy, what a difference.

Finally have some time to install the 922r compliant parts I've had sitting for weeks and was looking for any tips on removing and reinstalling the "Piston Ring" from the OEM gas piston to the Tromix gas piston. My inclination is to heat it and use some snap ring pliers. Any suggestions from those who have performed this swap ? Thanks in advance...

Hope your MKA is running better since the original post. I have also found mine not to like cycling low brass, they get hung-up on the base of the receiver and barrel junction. It appears the upward angle of the shell is not quite enough to clear the lower edge and slide into the chamber like the high brass shells. Once I noticed where and why it was hanging, I found a cheesy work-around which works 100% for mine now. After loading the mag with low brass shells, lightly tap the receiver end of the mag on a hard surface, to increase the upward angle of the shells in the mag. You'll notice the f
