Squishy , I do like that hogue fore grip setup. What other parts do I need to buy from Carolina so that the upper and lower will fit my 7.62. My barrel is grooved if it matters. Maybe if you can link the parts on your response it would be nice.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Do all the Tapco axis retaining plates cause the trigger pin to spin ?
-
Some people say it will wear out the receiver hole eventually? To be honest I can't say if it did this before or not. The axis pins are held in well though.
Thanks.

I noticed after reinstalling my trigger group that the trigger axis pin turns when I pull the trigger. Is this normal ?
Im using the Tapco trigger plate supplied from Carolina Shooters. The plate appears to be holding the pin in well. It just rotates when I squeeze the trigger. Thanks.

I think it's safe to assume that their online inquiry form which is how you contact them is not manned. I sent about three messages during the last week or two and neither was responded to.
-
Put it all back together earlier. I could have sworn the BHO spring took longer to refit than my first attempt GRrrrrr.
-
I bought my conversion kit from Carolina Shooters which included the Tapco G2 and retaining plate for axis pins.
Didn't know it would be harder to install without bho lol.
-
Should I choose not to install bho do I need a washer for my Carolina g2 trigger?

Just got back from the garage, stripped the receiver and used acetone to remove the Rustoleoum paint. It came of very easy. Cleaned and sprayed. Will put it back together weekend. Thanks for all your help. Appreciate it. ;-)
Got the paint from advanced auto parts. Looks nice, being overly anal noticed a couple of dust nibs however it don't matter.

Played it safe and gutted the receiver and just finished painting it with duplicolor be1634.
I used a flat head screw driver to releases pressure on the BHO spring thanks for the heads up.
After paint dries I will be putting it back together again. I guess I will go thru the same frustrations with the BHO spring and the hammer spring legs not resting correctly when I re assemble per the first time I converted the rifle.
Can I put the trigger guard in place first when I assemble ?
I'm thinking then trigger, BhO plate and spring then trigger bolt and pin followed by the hammer and spring and retaining plate.

My father in law bought the same from Kalinka and received his in less than a week. Cannot wait to get mine, although it says it's on back order? Card has already been charged.
I contacted Kalinka via their website as I wanted my order reference number, so far no response in over two days. My fault for closing browser prior to writing down order confirmation, just shame they never emailed me a confirm as most places do.

Will acetone work instead of the CRC?
With my previous botched Rustoleoum paint job I noticed a day or two later oil making its way through the receiver holes from inside.
-
That's where I'm going tonight thanks.

Silly question on how to strip out the receiver trigger group on a converted rifle.
I'm thinking, remove safety lever first then release the Tapco pin locking plate then trigger mechanism followed by the BHO.
Going to be repainting hence the question. Need to get all the oil out of the inside first else I would have just masked and painted. Thanks.

Really interested in this. Do I need to remove my existing trunnion of my saiga 7.62 then weld this on for it to work? Noticed your in Tampa which is close. Can I pay you todo this for me? Thanks.

Jaba, shall I just have him first test up down and left right to see if it even adjusts poi?
Personally I would have tested it first at 25 or 50 yards before attempting to zero new scope on 100 yard range. Which was frustrating.
-
Shall I just strip it down and restart ? I think this will be the best route to take. Anyone care to recommend a good paint stripper for this purpose? Originally I just slighty sanded it down to give the paint a key.

Hey guys. Was not calling anyone here names, Just venting sorry I I caused offense. This forum has been most helpful to me.

Sorry in advance for the rant. But this paint looks nothing like the stock semi gloss finish on our Saigas. I painted the receiver and its charcoal black. No sheen whatsoever, almost grey. I painted my rifle this evening and it looks like shite. So for all those that say this paint almost matches the original finish you must have eye sight like Ray Charles MOFos / cunts.

Went to the range today and tried to zero in my father in laws posp 4x24 on his. Saiga 7.62 at 100'yards.
The thing would shoot too high, on the lowest setting to still shot too high and wouldn't make a paper hit. Any ideas ? Maybe a duff unit from Kalinka?

So do I still need to replace the gas tube and fan for the upper grip to be accommodated ?thanks
-
Thanks. I will cut first part with a pipe cutter to check. I'm metric do I remove about 14.5 mm from top of the barell shroud?
I cannot see of its threaded or not.

I thought Dinzag sells some sort of retainers that may allow the ak 105 upper guard to fit my Saiga without me having to buy a new gas tube or the need to remove front site ?

Thanks for your response I appreciate it.
I would like an upper and or lower that is similar to the K var one and that can accommodate my grip pod. Sorry for the thread hijack.
