  1. That's why I choose to mod the mag catch itself.. I would rather modify that than all my mags.. just incase in the future I bought a non Saiga AK my mags wouldn't be sloppy. If your super worried.. order a new mag catch before you mod your old one. I took a dremel to my Saiga 7.62 the first night I brought it home, lol.
  2. I will defiantly be giving him a call for future purchases.
  3. Thanks everyone! I already started ordering parts, lol. I want to run a drum on it so it seems that if I convert it and throw a US muzzle break on it im good to go as far as 922 is concerned.
  4. I took a dremel to the mag release on the gun. I would reccomend a file but I didn't have one handy at the time. I took a VERY and I mean VERY small portion off of the mag catch on the gun itself. Keep trying the mags and remove a little more. Mine turned out perfect, now my Saiga mags and my AK mags clip in nice and loud and do not wiggle at all, there very sturdy. Just need to install a bullet guide now. I would suggest to modify the gun, this way if your at the range with friends you can swap out mags if need be without any hassle.
  5. Thanks! Yeah like I said, the seller was a very humble person. I don't think he got that Saiga many years ago, the serial number starts with a 12, so im guessing its a 2012. It was also imported by RMC (I believe those are the 3 correct letters, the gun is not in front of me right now). There was also a sticker on the box that says 10/1/12. My Saiga 12 begins with an 11 and its a 4 port, so im guessing its a 2011. I don't think he had that gun long at all. Your right about the mags, although $15 is a steal this day in age. The mags are Thermolmags. I myself coming from the AR world am a pl
  6. Thanks guys. About the seller. I really didn't know why he said he would sell it for that price. I was expecting to get there and him say "I said 1475, not 475" lol, that would be my luck. Whats even stranger is... he was in his low 40's and active military!!! He does this on the side. I thought for sure he would want market price for it. I didn't even discuss the price, I was actually nervous until it was in my hands. The guy was really nice, I just think he sold it to me at his retail price at the time he held it aside for himself. A guy that owns a gun shop by me. I was up there yester
  7. I really don't post much, but I figured some of you would find this unbelieveable . After I bought my Saiga 12, I really wanted the AK. I slept on buying one and then all the craziness happened. Couldn't find one anywhere locally, on Gunbroker they are going for 900-1200. Today I brought up google maps and started looking at my neighboring states and searched for gun stores. I must have called 50 places and got the obvious NO. On like the 51st call I found a really really small gun shop out of a guys house in the middle of no where. He had a new one there that he was going to keep for his pers
