  1. Be very careful at some of the ranges if you go with that setup. CA DOJ pulls some shady crap to snare people. Also if you get car stopped with it on the way to or from the range you will likely get jammed up by the cops.
  2. Looking at your rifle as pictured, does it have any type of bullet button? The stock and detachable magazine makes it an assault weapon under CA law. The brake is really only an issue if it is considered a muzzle flash hider. The stock you have on is considered a pistol grip under the current law. With that and a detachable mag you need a bullet button or tool to remove the magazine. This is all assuming that you did not have this rifle registered as an assault weapon prior to the ban. Here is the text from CA DOJ 12276.1 (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall a
  3. I just haven't had any updates lately. Ran into some unexpected car costs which hurt my Saiga parts fund. Hoping to remedy that in the next few pay checks. Then I can start adding some progress on mine.
  4. I'm still waiting to do this on mine as well. I need to swap the trigger parts first, then the FSB and add a brake. Then I can finally run normal mags after having my armorer add a bullet guide. Still undecided on what route I want to go on the new FSB and brake though.
  5. I can part with mine, I replaced it with a Bulgy tube so I could put handguards on.
  6. It handles surprisingly well. The grip is slightly off due to the straight stock and short length of pull but was by no means uncomfortable to shoot. Handled fairly well, only issue with the straight stock and no pistol grip is reloads are slightly awkward due to balance issues.
  7. This one from Dinzag says its for factory configuration. They have it for $70 on their site. I've seen the G2's on gunbroker for about half that, so I am debating doing what you did. Thanks for the break down of the process.
  8. Any pictures of what you had to modify on the G2 trigger to get it to work? I'm debating getting that and modifying it or getting the one made for the factory config saiga.
  9. Its the lower retainer from Dinzag arms. I was thinking of dimpling it for the set screw, glad to hear I'm not crazy thinking to do that. Also gotta find my Loctite.
  10. Got to fire mine today at the indoor range. Shot very tight groups but was low and right. Don't have a sight adjustment tool right now so I will have to wait on remedying that problem. Also my lower handguard retainer is moving when I shoot. Need to Loctite the screws with it in place and hope that solves the issue. I was overall very impressed with how it shot.
  11. ^That's how the public range at Burro Canyon in Azusa is. Their private lanes are awesome. Public range is full if straight up bangers shooting pistols sideways, shotguns from the hip and the like.
  12. Just picked up some Red Army Standard lead core ammo from Turners. Should be able to hit the range tomorrow and finally get it tested out.
  13. Still haven't been able to take mine out yet. I need to find some non bi-metal/ non steel core ammo so I can go to some of the ranges around me. All the Wolf ammo I bought because it was cheap, fails the magnet test.
  14. ^Ahh Jersey is likely Cali on steroids when it comes to gun-phobia craziness.
