  1. There is the US rules, International rules, and then outlaw rules. Decide which rules you are going to follow and then go for it! USPSA started out with whatever you had you shot and it was either a revolver or single stack. As the equipment evolved i.e. dots, compensators, holsters, hi-caps the playing field became unfair per the single stackers. How can you compete a single stack against a race gun? One way is to set-up single stack friendly stages. Max round count from any one shooting position make it 8 rounds. Simple enough so if you had a 32 round course of fire you set-up 4 diffe
  2. This is my set-up for shotgun similar for rifle and handgun but naturally pouches smaller for rifle and handgun. I like the set-up Wakal has for hooking onto pocket with the brass clip. The pouch in the back is for a Barney shell one in the chamber and 10 in the magazine. My reload is grab the mag unlock the mag release with my thumb rock out the old mag rock in the new. I can rock a downloaded mag but not a full mag. I do have the LRBHO but if I can rock in a downloaded mag without shooting empty that's what I'll do. The last stage at the multigun was called a walk in the park it consis
  3. Alex, Enjoyed meeting and talking to you at the Nationals! When I can get the money together I'm going to pick up one of your comps. I like your expansion chamber versus JP's. I have a JP which I was going to install but after seeing yours I decided to sell the JP. Congratulations on your finish at the Nationals, I wish I were the caliber shooter you are but even though I'm not I do enjoy my Saiga. All the RO's were impressed with the ease of pre-loading and commented how light it was compared to the other "brands". My comment was "and reliable" like the AK if you found one in the paddie
  4. Installed my poly choke and went to the range today. Shot Winchester Universal #6 - 1 1/8 oz - 3 dr loads. The total number of pellets in the load is approximately 254. With the choke set at imp cylinder and the distance 15 and 20 yds the following results: 1. 15 yds 30 inch circle 254 pellets. 2. 15 yds 24 inch circle 254 pellets. 3. 15 yds 18 inch circle 244 pellets. As can be seen from the picture the 18 inch circle has the denser pattern at 15 yds. Same choke setting same load distance 20 yds the results are as follows: 1

    Magazine pouch

Finally arrived today the long awaited magazine pouches for 5 and 10 round magazines. Only problem is they are right hand not left! Thought I'd post a picture of the pouches so all could see.

    Poly-Choke

Just received my Poly-Choke and installed. Before installing measured the barrel bore and measured .721". With the Poly-Choke installed the measured settings are: SLUG .724", IMP CYL .718", MOD .709", IMP MOD .706", FULL .701", X FULL .697". Going by charts a full choke should have a difference of .035" from cylinder to full choke. Using my measurements; the cylinder is .721" the full choke is .701" giving a difference of .020" or a difference of 42.8% from the .035". But I really won't know the performance of the Poly-Choke until I pattern test the loads I intend to shoot, and I also hav

  9. Went to the Vest Guy site and I like the tactical double straped to your thigh. I'm going to order one and try it out. I also like the idea of a mag pouch on the belt because I can grab the mag in the middle. This is a better reload grip for me. Thats my thought for now, and if I have both then I can decide which is faster for me. I don't have a mag well and I don't plan on getting one my reloads may be 1.0 to 1.5 sec slower than with a well but with practice I can get that down to .5 sec or better. What slows my transition from empty to full mag to first shot off is releasing the bolt.
  10. I am going to the 3-gun nationals and plan on shooting my saiga 12 shotgun. I found a place that will make mag pouches for the 10 round mags. They are tooling up and will be going into production. I contacted one of the advertised contributors and inquired if they were interested and got a "not at this time" answer. I don't want to post the name of the company because they are not a contributor, but I would like to let everyone, who is interested, their is a company that will make mag pouches. The magazine pouches are not cloth and attach to the outer belt.
  11. Received a quick reply from Michigan about the shotgun match: I described a start with 5 at the audible shoot 1 load 1 etc. We've never had a stage such as you describe. There may be limited shotgun stages, where you might start with 5 in the gun to simulate a 'pick-up gun', and then it's up to you what you do from then on, and we have been known to have stages where the gun is completely empty, and you do what you want as far as loading, or in the case of multigun just going straight for the rifle or gun. In general, we strive to have real world tactical problems, rather than anyth
  12. Go for it! I'm going to try and get the stage descriptions to see if they are going to make it harder for the saiga shooters. An example would be numbere ot targets 10 and stage description: From Shooting Box, starting with 5 rounds loaded, on the signal engage only one target, load one round, then engage only two targets, then load two rounds, then engage only three targets, then load three rounds, then engage the four remaining targets, missed targets may be made up at the end of the string without penalty. This would require a lot of mag changes and make it a disadvantage for a saiga sh
