  1. I have a couple questions about these products..........

    http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-372/Saiga-AK47-Internal-Stock/Detail

    http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-170/ACE-CAR15-SAIGA-AK47/Detail

    1) The above linked internal adapter is the same price as the similar looking DPH one, but this one has the extra mounting holes/screws. Everything else looks identical. Any other differences between it, and the DPH that I should know about? I'm leaning toward the one linked above, over the DPH, simply for the extra screws. The sturdier, the better. Have you heard of anyone installing their adapter, only to found that the side mounting holes don't line up? Figuring in the drunken Russian variances in Saigas, it's something that crossed my mind. I don't really want to have to start shaving into the adapter to get it to fit.

    2) Both adapters say "Designed with a 3 degree corrected stock angle so the stock is straight with the barrel, not angled down."...................but don't you want to have an angled down stock, like a regular AK stock, if you're running iron sights? Doesn't the stock being straight with the barrel interfere with cheek-weld when using iron sights?

    3) For the Ace pig-nose, it says "Threaded for your CAR Commercial buffer tube."...............but commercial and mil-spec tubes have the same thread size, so what's with the disclaimer? For example, the threads on an AR lower will accept both a commercial tube and mil-spec tube. So will the pig-nose accept a mil-spec tube?

    4) The two linked products above is all that is needed to mount an AR stock onto an AK, correct? I'm not missing anything?

    5) Do you (or anyone reading this) have any pics of the above combination of parts installed?

    Lot's of questions, I know. Sorry. :angel::D

Slug-o just put a pignose adapter on his Tromix today(welded back plate)and I am pretty sure you just need the adapter, receiver extension, nut and stock.I am suppose to pick up my pignose for my tromix later this week from him.

As for the commercial Vs milspec they both should work. All AR lowers are threaded that same.It is the diameter of the receiver extension after the threads that determines if they are milspec or commercial with the commercial being a larger OD.

    hope this helps.

  2. I know common sense isn't so common(especially with clowns like the dude that got beat up)HOWEVER,did that little black guy not take a second to realize how BIG that guy was!!?That white guy was a very large guy. What did you expect? He looked like he was every bit of 6ft3-6ft4 and 230-240lbs.If a guy that size hits you and it makes contact it is going to hurt.

Either way,the disturbing part is all the crap that the beat up guy was saying after he got beat up.People need to learn when they have been the one who made the mistake, take the ass whoopin' and shut up.

  3. The tubes are Israeli and are very secure. The stock is what counts for the 922r part. Not the tube. It is the same as an internal block stock adapter which does not count.

The poly tube has a long sling loop.

If I've all ready cut the tang, is there still a way to us an AR stock on my S12? I've all ready got a skeleton stock on the adapter block I got from you guys but at some point in the future I'm thinking about changing it out for an AR stock.

Here is a stock adaper for the Saiga. You need to remove the tang, but if you have already done that you're ahead of the game. It will accept any AR stock and has attach points for quick disconnect slings on either side.

Would you guys ever consider making something like this for those of us who already have a welded on back plate?

  4. Had the same problem after originally doing my conversion. Can you post a pic of the FCG showing how you installed the crook? Just to confirm that its been properly installed.

Also, I keep hearing people referring to the e-clips as if they are temporary fixes. Any reason to suspect that they would not hold up to long term use? They would be soooooo much easier to install than a crook or a plate.

I agree.I am sure I am not telling you anything you don't already know, but that pin has a "flare " that the crook is suppose to lock into between the inside of the reciever wall and the "flare" on the pin.I would make certain that this is installed correctly. If it is,I can't imagine how that pin would come out.

  5. dude..you are costing me money...lol...did you order all the stuff you said you were going to???

    Leon035.gif

2 magwells on the way(so technically you cost me more money than I cost you).

did you order those mag holders also???

Tried to.They are out of town for SHOT.I will get the expressed shipped as soon as they return.

  6. I ran 400 rounds today between my 2 S12's.One has the JT spring in it and has about 1k rounds through it now.I had 2 light primer strikes today on some cheap wally world Remington bird shot. This has never happened before.

Just a thought, what gas setting were you using?Maybe the mag wasn't feeding the gun fast enough?I have seen guns with too high of a gas setting slam the carrier forward so quickly that it does what you are describing.Using full power loads like what you were using might cause this.

  7. Your magwell really interests me.I looked at the mags you have on your site and it looks like the magwell/mags work a lot like an AR15.Are both lugs removed and a notch installed in the side of the mag to retain it?If so,is this something that is easily done for people who already have Surefires and are looking at your magwell?

Also,is there enough room left to use anything other than your trigger guard(like a Tromix trigger guard)?

  8. This is my "plinker" and the gun I use for 3-gun;

    Home conversion with:

    Tromix DIY Trigger guard

    Tromix FCG

    Tromix extended charging handle

JT mainspring and extended mag release

    Gun Fixr plug

Internal reciever block with Tromix/Limb saver stock attached

Kross rail w/ Tango down QD stubby grip

    Kreps battle sights

    Poly choke

  9. I recently took a good look at my S17 after putting a Kross rail and a few other parts on it.Since it was new(3.5 years ago)it has worn a little strange on the gas piston.

If I pull the charging handle back and lock the bolt/carrier open and look at it from the top, the piston is off center and is canted towards the ejection port side of the gun.In turn, this is causing the piston to hit the end of the gas tube(not sure what this part is called but is the part that is dovetailed on top for the rear factory sight). It has worn the ejection side of the piston shiny and it appears to be slightly thinner on this side and is wearing the tube part. This part is also loose but nothing too crazy. The gas tube moves about 1/2 MM or so.

This gun has done this since new(obviously since the piston is so short)and now has thousands of rounds through it.I noticed the piston wearing after the first time I took it out.

Is this typical with guns running this short gas system?Anything I should be looking for.I never plan on selling this gun and with that said I want it to last "forever".

  10. For what it is worth,my best friend has had his AR barrel(really crazy dimpled Lilja Recce barrel)and his bolt carrier done with it.He works for a very well known firearms manufacturer(PM if you need details)and shoots this rifle a LOT.Does Magpul dynamic classes with it frequently. He really likes it.He has said that the coating on the bolt carrier "self lubricates" and the gun will run dirtier since he shoots the gun suppressed most of the time.

We are going shooting tomorrow and I will take pics of the rifle for you if you would like.Hope this helps.

  11. Leon,we are in the same boat.I would like to have a red dot on mine(same as your Tromix, kross rail etc but no magwell)but there aren't currently any real options.Even using the dovetail on these guns is iffy' because they become loose after lots of shooting,or at least mine has,due to the shorter gas system and the piston "striking" that part of the gas tube.

    I think the best option would be for someone(preferably Kross)to make something like this;

    KAC_MP5_RAS_Pic_004.jpg

    99048-2.jpg

I think this would provide a stable platform to mount an optic since it attaches to the rail and it puts the optic right in the middle of the gun.I think a version of something like this that sits as low as possible with a small section of 1913 rail would be perfect.Put an Aimpoint Micro on it and you're done.

  12. Are you using winchester ammo?

I had problems with the cheap bulk winchester ammo deforming and then catching in that same spot.

Fix for me was to only run the fed bulk instead. :)

    +1.

This is a cheap, easy and fun fix.I took a few brands of shells with me the first time I took both of my S12's out so I could rule out ammo if there were any problems.I found neither of mine liked Winchester.

  13. Robert made some Kydex clips that you can attach to your mags. Several of us use them. You can put them on so the mag hangs with the rounds up or down or at an angle, how every you like. I have one on my 20 round mag and I hang it on the back of my belt if I want to start with a 12 and change to the 20 later in the stage. They are $7 each and attach with some strong double face tape. I put some colored duct tape on mine for addtional security and it also helps me locate my mags if there are several Saiga shooters on the squad.

Those look perfect.Do they come with everything needed to attach the clip(double sided tape).I am going to order a few tomorrow to try out at this months 3-gun.

  14. Those guys make some really sweet looking stuff.Although they have some really high tech looking stuff, they have a few parts that are simple solutions that I will be ordering. The mag/belt clips look awesome.I will be ordering a few of these to use for multi-gun.
