  2. That was a real Saiga "Where's Waldo"! I had to scan the picture to identify that half hidden and partly blurred can. But it is unmistakable. Were the Marlboros also added for the artistic content in the photo? BrianW
  3. I really wish I could see a video clip of what you are describing. I somewhat get the picture. BVamp, are you talking about a pistol grip at the front grip to keep your froward hand pulling hard forward? It sounds like the front hand is doing the main gripping of the rifle and providing the forward thrust. If the rear trigger finger is staying stationary, I'm assuming that the rear hand is mearly supporting the Saiga from the bottom, while letting the Saiga move forwards and back over the trigger hand and finger. 4. I'm confused. With the number of references to "bump fire", there must be more to it than I am assuming. I had just assumed a bump fire was pulling the trrigger quickly, but I'm starting to believe my assumption is incorrect. What exactly is bump firing?? BrianW
  5. I remember I was reading a thread where someone wanted or mounted a flare launcher tube to their Saiga...or maybe that they did. I can't recall. Anyway I'm not one to pass judgement (although they sounded crazy wanting to do so, in an entertaining sort of way ). Moving along, I was at the BATF website trying to find out if I could write to someone there to have them send me a written determination of my stock design when I came across this info: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (M29) Are grenade and rocket launcher attachments destructive devices? [back] Grenade and rocket launcher att
  6. This is my favorite photo of the new furniture
  7. Beautiful view of the cheek piece detail from the top looking down the sights :
  8. No closeups yet. I'm putting the satin clear urethane finish on today. It's wet still. And tomorrow I'l be going on a trip for a week. I'll post the finished and assembled Saiga with stock when I get back in about 10 days . BrianW
  9. Hi JesusCow, Thanks for the compliment on the stock . I wish I knew how to make a mold to produce a syntetic stock. I have been thinking about that since the stain on my stock reacted with the finish (it got gooey and wouldn't dry). I've spent 4 days trying to extract all the goo out of the stock. I'm now back at the staining stage again. If I could do molding, I would use this wood stock to make the mold, since it's perfectly fitted to the receiver. I could still make wooden stocks. I still have my flat template that I used to transfer the pattern to the laminated stock blan
  10. The posted trigger hammer catch does not look like my stock Saiga 20 trigger hammer catch. Mine did not have that "extra" grey part. I'm kind of curious also. BrianW
  11. Hi Mephis, Man! I wouldn't even dare shoot it with those screws on the outside! They were just there for fit up, and will be fully screwed in after the stock is finished. As for thumbhole...<enable RobertDeNiro>I don't see a thumbhole...do you see a thumbhole, cuz there is ain't no thumbhole to see! <disable RobertDeNiro> Here's a better photo with the stock stained. 12. I moved the trigger group forward. I was very easy and inexpensive, that is if you simply buy the Romanian trigger. You can buy the trigger here for $7.99 http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=216&1=268&3=421 And you will need to buy the pistol grip nut and screw. And if you are using a wooden stock you also need to buy the pistol grip's washer for the screw. These 3 pistol grip parts can be bought as a set. Surprizingly eBay is an excellent supply for these inexpensive parts. And here are the very easy instructions with pictures for the modification. http://www.cross-con
