  1. It appears that the problem most likely originates from inconsistent "spring-back" of the sheet metal top cover when it is released from the form die. Could be issues with the substrate material or the forming process, but I believe that is what is causing the randomly twisted top covers. However, the fix takes five seconds. Pop the cover up, grab ahold of it with both hands and twist/flex it back into contour. Slap the cover back down and you're good.

P.S. Granted, I only have one sample, so others may have more extreme issues.

This would be a great Before & After / How to Video !!!

  2. I havent shot them, as I just discovered it today, but they hand cycle fine. On further inspection the front does sit much lower than the vepr-12 mag, and the feed angle is shallower, but they seem to feed fine. Maybe not the best for reliability, might not work in everyones as the feed angle is different, but seems to work in mine.

Pulled the followers & found the angle is virtually identical in both Mags

The biggest difference is the rear portion's curve, shape & Bulge of the Mag

In addition to having no front lip It is this shape that forces the higher & proper feed angle.

Personally I think the simple fix would be an re angled replacement follower???

  3. Here she is. Its done other than a few little bits and pieces. It has a custom built folder that I loosely modeled after an SVD folding stock, tapco trigger, and a magpul rail and foregrip added to the handgaurd.

your folder looks better than most after market folders. Now why can't aftermarketers make a folder that doesn't bulge out like a freaking tumor?

Thanks man. That is a big reason why i built it, I can't stand the bulges that a lot of stocks have around the trunion area either. I really wanted a folding SVD stock or a Russian triangle folder because they fold flush with the receiver, but I don't have that kind of money to drop on a stock right now. And the idea of cutting the tang off is not something I wanted to do since these are somewhat rare right now. It took me a few days to come up with a way to keep the tang and have it fold. knowing the way gun stuff is, if enough people want something like this I am sure some one will mass produce it. (and not pay me a cent009.gif )

    Great Job! Looks Amazing!!!

  4. I noticed that the factory 5 round rock and lock saiga mags work perfectly fine in my vepr-12 with no mods. The lrbho doesn't function but otherwise they work great. Do any u.s. made rock and locks work without mods?

So cool if this is true!!!

But, Are you Sure? ... Did you shoot with them???

I Just Checked the feed angle and proximity to the chamber are totally different! Saiga Mags seem too low.

They lock up fine and seem to feed, but I'm guessing lots of FTE's & FTF's because of the Lower feed angle.

Also noticed how high the follower comes up is limited in the Saiga mag.

If this could be fixed LRBHO might even work!!!

  5. How about $650 shipped? If so I"ll take it...

    Joe

Let me see what the shipping is on that, I really wanted to double up on the Boxes & Padding etc.

Wanted to protect the original box.

Plus there's Insurance ... As long as I get to keep $650 with S&H, I would be fine with that.

BTW ... Where would I be shipping to Joe?

  6. Waiting for pics...Maybe your VER21 hit the wood lottery.

But I said I would sell it & I have to keep my word!

  7. You said GK-01 brake. Is that the Russian one or the CSS copy? I shot mine today with the CSS brake, no issues with WIN Universal

CSS brake. When I removed it, no more FTE the target stuff.

That's interesting! ... any reason how & why the CSS brake affects cycling?

  8. My VEPR 12

M4 style tube 6 position from CSS and Magpul m4 stuck stock. Tromix drop in tapco drigger and a vented Polly choke.

    Stock looks Great!

Considering all the work& Mods to get the CSS M4 Style Tube to fit ... do you feel it was worth it?
