  1. hi,just wondering if i can weld a lip straight across the front of a standard ak type mag and once cleaned up if it will feed allright and be generally a safe modification.im in new zealand so not easy to get bullet guides etc.and the mags look very near exact except for the cut out at the front.cheers
  2. hi,in new zealand all our saigas come with 5 round mags,but they are a ten round mag body with a mag folloer thats quite large and restricts the capacity to five.quite easy for us to change it to 7-10 rounds so you should be able to modify your stock 10 to a 5 without too much trouble.some sort of spacer in the bottom of the mag??cheers

    hi,getting a liscence isnt to involved.you have to complete a saftey type lecture at your local police station about 2hrs long of different senarios and then a 30 question test.you also have the police do a fit and proper person check,and a home visit to check your security and they chat to your wife to see your not unstable.we can have most rifles on a standard "a" class liscense but if a .22 cal semi auto has a mag size of more than 15 rounds or a centrefire has a mag of more than 7 rounds then they need to be registered firearms and a different liscene type applied for.you can buy pretty mu

    hi,no restrictions on mag sales in new zealand,but if you fit a larger mag to your rifle you need another endorsement on your liscence.check out www.guncity.co.nz and youll see the sort of prices we pay over here.
  5. hi,does anyone no where i can buy some mags for export out of the usa.i live in new zealand.just brought a new saiga 7.62x39 for $850 nz thats about 500usd.hard to source spare mags here at a reasonable price.im only after the 10 shot mag.ive tried lots of us based gunshops but none will post.we are only allowed 7 round mags on a normal firearms liscence here but the 10 round mags would be easy enough to convert to 7.any thoughts\help would be great.thanks pete
