  1. Saigastock carries a factory 2 round S-20 mag for 3" shells.

they cost a pretty penny but they are much cheaper than the factory 2 round S-12 mags.

I would post a link but I'm not sure of their vendor status.

  2. I purchased one of the Factory 2 round Saiga 12 mags and a top cover from them. Great people to deal with.

I bought 2 of the 2.5" Mags in the marketplace on another forum for $20 each. I got them today and they appear to be brand new - I will have to check them out more this evening. I would like to find one more 2.5" and 3 of the 2 rounders to complete my set.

    Currently I have

    3 - Factory 4 Round 3"

    3 - Factory 10 Round Solid Body 3"

    3 - Factory 10 Round Counter 3"

    2 - Factory 4 Round 2.5"

  3. As far as selectors "sweet" go I like the one I put on my AK Pistol.

It utilizes a Galil Semi auto Selector, Double Lug Pistol Grip nut and thumb selector & Linkage.

Should be easily adaptable for the S-12 Platform but haven't tried it.

  4. Another vote for the AK-100 style. However to retrofit one to your Saiga, the entire rifle must be disassembled down to the bare receiver. Even the front and rear trunnions have to have their rivets drilled and punched out so they can be removed too. This way, the proper rear trunnion shown in the picture of the parts above can be fitted, and the receiver needs to have a rectangular hole milled into it, and have the latching mechanism for the folded position installed before the front trunnion is put back in and re-riveted into place. My FFL has an AK-100 style stock on his Saiga for the sake of authenticity, and it's very nice, and has the best lines, being all pure Izhmash/AK OEM parts. After that, I'd say the ACE is next for aesthetics, it's lines remind me of some of the stocks on Valmet rifles which have obvious AK lineage/DNA to them. For rigidity, the solid Tromix one, I agree. Although the ACE is only weaker or more flexible under the most extreme abuse. Like if you laid it unfolded and tried to use it and your Saiga as a small makeshift bridge to cross a chasm or something.

    Remove the rear trunnion yes...

Front trunnion does not need to be removed.

The cutting and fitting can be done with a drill press, hacksaw and a few jewelers files. 2 to 3 hours tops.

Weld holes and Rivet and you are good to go.

I'ts not as easy cutting the upper tang and installing a block but it is achieveable with minimal tools and some patients.

  5. I have a few of the factory 2 rounders. I traded for 1, bought one off a member on another board and ordered the last one from Saigastock.

They always seem to run in the $75 - $80 range. I believe these are a one time deal so I guess get them while you can - I may be wrong but I guess we'll see.

  6. I had a chance to go to the range at lunch today for another "test fire"

The AK Pistol ate 20 flawless rounds and made a couple good size fireballs.

I was filming and letting a friend have a try at it.

  7. I have received all of my shipments from Oleg Including 8 round S-12 Mags and 10 Round Saiga 410 Mags.

Never had any issues. Every shipment I received had always had the proper paperwork and "instructions" of the customs agent should a shipment be held for inspection...
