  1. trying to load pics but i can't figure it out
  2. I bought it. I printed out the pages nalioth linked and went through the rifle checking every aspect. The buttstock wasn't as tight as some of the comparison pictures. i checked out but the rest of the rifle looked good. this rifle did not show any of the corrosion, grime or sloppy work pictured in those links. Thanks for all the help!
  3. Without more information, I"m gonna go out on a limb here and make an assumption. I'd assume you are talking about a Bulgarian SSR-85C. If it is marked "Armory USA. Houston, Texas" on it, go for it. If it is marked "TGI, Knoxville TN", avoid it. These guns are no longer held to the high standards as they were when they were imported by Global Trades / Armory USA. In my opionion, a WASR is a much better option. The WASR is made of all new parts, and will provide you with decades of reliable service ( just make sure you check that everything is on straight before you pull
  4. Thanks for the input. Is there anything in particular i should be looking for? Importer matter? Given my choice between a WASR and a Bulgarian, it seems to me the Bulgarian is much better built.
  5. $650.00 is a good price. But are you unsure of the receiver type? Milled receivers do not have dimples. They have lightening cuts to save weight and the dimples on stamped receivers are to support the magazine. Milled Stamped with dimples I guess i don't. I was under the impression that the reciever is milled but it has dimples like the ones in the stamped photo. I will have to take a closer look at it. Still a good buy though?
  6. What's going on? Got an opportunity to pick up a Bulgarian AK in Mass which still subscribes to the AWB. Gun has a milled revciever, double hook trigger and dimples in the mag well and a 30 round mag. Gun's gonna run me 6 and a half. What do you all think? Thanks Allred
  7. So long as the "Trigger Kit" includes the hammer, trigger, and disconnector and then you replace EITHER the forearm/handguard OR the Buttstock with US made parts you're all set (You only need to replace 4 foreign parts with US made parts). So you're doing a folding stock and pistol grip as your two "evil features?" I'm in MA and am also doing a conversion I'm adding the pistol grip and high capacity magazines however I have to make sure they weren't made after 1994. You can only have two "evil features" so if you're not adding a bayo lug, the high cap mag, or the flash hider/suppressor you'r
  8. In the process of converting my Saiga. Been looking into the threads to pull out the information i need to be compliant. Now being in Mass i cannot use high capacity mags and i don't want to install a bullet guide to do so, would rather shoot factory mags. So if i install a US G2 trigger kit with US made PG, butt-stock and for-end on my 7.62 will that keep me ingood standing with the feds and Mass since i won't have a bayo adapter, high cap mags or a treaded barrel? Thanks!
  9. Anyone K-Var's complete conversion kit for $80? Good deal or what? Allred
  10. I went through Kalinka optics and they were great, good communication and fast cheap shipping out of NC. Watch out for Ebay and other optics places that charge you $40 to ship a POSP
  11. Definately +1. High cap mags are only part of 922r. The seperate pistol grip, folding stock, and other features also apply. So as long as i put a US made PG and Buttstock and a US trigger group i should be all set. Thanks!
  12. Really itching to do a conversion and checking this site every day and reading all of the success stories has pushed me over the edge. Now if i do convert i plan on leaving the mag well and magazines stock, do i even have to worry about 922r? Thanks! Allred
  13. UPDATE: Scored a slip on from Dinzag, so i won't have to thread or make anything permanent Thanks for all the replies! Allred
  14. Check these out: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE202-41692-888.html http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE206-63754-888.html Buddy of mine has the 36"for his AR and i'm gonna pick one up for my Saiga. Case is pretty sweet for the money and seem pretty well built.
  15. Where did you get a slip on adapter?
