  1. no i dont. i just wanted the cheapest i could get. i was expecting some winchester or remingtion ammo but she had some 7.62X51 m80 ball ammuntion. thats all the box said. it was a white box and cheap crap. the bolt seemed to be leaving a major scratch on the casing. is this normal? for sure next time im going to get better ammo. sometime this weekend i hope. oh and texasak how do i change the OEM mag internals. I wanna swtich to the 8-round mag, but am a little afraid of breaking something. what tool should i used to get the bottom off? and should i make sure not to do something?
  2. the mutlicam looks top-notch. personally tho i dont like the acu digital on a gun. it looks like a toy to me, kinda glossy. but it looks well done. have you ever matched it up next to some acu digital fatigues? i bet it would blend well. do you do any of this work for charge? i dont picture myself knowing what im doing first time around. and dont have the time or money to learn at the moment. thanks. the guns look sweet.
  3. yes, i went with the cheapest and thats what i paid for. also fossten your link in your sig is dead. now i will only shoot the best i can afford.
  4. So I finally got out to the range around here and fired the .308 I picked up from texasak. I bought about 80 rounds of some miltary surplus ammo. I just wanted to get out to the range and fire off some rounds to get a feel for it. Boy was it nice. It did have lots of recoil but didnt hurt at all. I only shot at 25 yards and i got about 3in. groupings. I know this isnt good or anything but I was really not aiming and just itching to shoot the gun. Im stoked. I did have some problems with the ammuntion tho. First it was dirty as fuck because it took me like an hour to clean the gun and i
  5. ah yes. thats awesome. seems like a nice project. too bad they dont have marine digital camo but maybe i could find the right colors and order the templates. ill need to do more research. thanks for the link
  6. Yo. I really like digital camo now adays. Ive seen miltary sniper rifles that are painted this way, but searchin the web nothing comes up. So, I bought some of the marine digital camo gun tape. It is awesome, but cleary there is alot of moving and/or removable parts. I managed to do a good job. and it does look sick. Except kinda funny where theres a black square from sight to the stock. Is there any type of adhesive i could use with the tape to get it to stick on the left side and other parts the of the gun that arnt moving. The tape has to stick to itself and there just isnt a way to
  7. I was waiting for the mail man today, when I saw that he rolled up, I walked out to meet him. Then I proceeded to unwrap and then fiddle with the weapon. Ive never taken apart an ak before so it was fun trying to get the top back on. But alas i got it. Now i got about 100 bucks to go buy a sling, some ammo, a cleaning kit, and a good lock. +1 TexasAK, gun is top notch and i love it. Thanks
  8. nice workmanship also clean your carpet. -frig
  9. Yes Im stoked about it. I like the sniper rifle look and thats what I plan on using it as. I wanna reach out and touch something at 300+ yards. I think once I figure out a little more about saigas and how they work ill get a X39. I was thinking about making it look like the SOCOMII. I really like the look of it, and I think turning a saiga 7.62 into one is a pretty easy conversion since you dont need a pistol grip. -frig
  10. $35 for 100 huh? Do tell!! edit: link broken or no longer ammo avaiable?
  11. well, I listened to all your advice. and thanks for it. i was so so gonna buy the 7.62x39 and do everything you recommened. ...........but that was until i saw this: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=19572 I couldnt resist and sent out for the .308. Im trying to convince my brother to buy a 7.62 x39 because he wants a gun as more as a novelty. I wanted the .308 to turn some heads and thats what that gun is gonna do. Now all ill need is a scope and im game. Im in texas so the mag limit doesnt matter. ive found some cheap 100 rd a box surplus ammo for 35 bucks.
  12. so for the 7.62 is there a large difference in the 20 in barrel than the 16 in? i really like the look of the 20 in barrel for some reason. this does help in range doesnt it, even if a little?
  13. Ive been searching the forums for some information and it is helpful. I do have a few questions tho. The main reason I want the Saiga is for the all around use. I can take it out and have fun shooting. It seems to be able to sub as a hunting rifle. And it seems easily converted. So here are my questions. If I want a gun to take down deer and possibly hogs. Should I got with the 7.62 or .308. What ranges? How hard is the recoil with each? If I want to make it a better hunting gun, Ill need a new trigger and scope? The RSA triggers seem to be the one, and can some
  14. So as you can read in the title, Im extremely interested in the Saiga. Ive been searching the forums for some information and it is helpful. I do have a few questions tho.
