  1. Tested it on Friday. It runs fine, With the factory ammo the sound was about the same as a .22 rimfire rifle
  2. Ok just got my BR reflex today and fitted it. Off to the range in the morning for testing. Anyone know what is the best ammo to run in a suppressed Saiga AK ? All the best Chris
  3. YOU CAN HAVE AKs in origenal configuration (fully auto!!!!) and Saiga12,Molot shotguns? Full auto ... No unless you are a section 5 dealer then yes. As for Saiga 12 and vepr 12 no issues they are pretty standard. This is th off the shelf config in the UK
  4. yes they are brand new from Saiga, straight from the production line. Not sure if they do them in the US as the import laws on rifles with some features are strange. I know they only import saigas in sporting configuration. The prices over here for the different specs are SVD - Modern Russian / standard mil-spec barrel / black polymer furniture £1,780-00 SVDS Paratrooper - Para's version of SVD (Tigr 02) £2,075-00 SVD - Modern Russian / .308 NATO (7.62x51) / 4 magazines / black polymer furniture £2,089-00 They seem pretty good for the money
  5. They run at about £1800 to £2100 brand new in the UK. They do them in 7.62xr54R Ammo isn't an issue most RFD's sell that eastern block surplus stuff in tins or wooden boxes or the new version in .308 NATO (7.62x51)
  6. Typo I meant 1000 yards. Looks like I will be sending my paperwork in and getting one to try
  7. Guys, Just looking for a little info before I submit my paperwork. I was looking for a rifle for 1000 yards. Thought about an AK variant that is capable of 1000 yard target shooting. Do you know if the 7.62x54R SVD Dragunov would be suitable for this? I was looking at something like this Regards Chris
  8. Same here mate. I have a rare Lee Enfield made from the Fazakerley plant 2 miles from my home ( Long gone now though ). I have all the paperwork from it. Originally it was made for export to south african forces . However after that made its way to afganistan. After that it was purchased by a US dealer and shipped to USA before being sold at auction and making its way back to the UK. (2 miles from the old factory). Its in a little rough condition but I cant bare to re-blue it or sand it down due to the history. A nice collectors rifle and shoots as good as the day it was made
  9. Just checked for you. We dont ship to Itialy from the UK as they has stringent laws regarding military styled rilfles. You probantly arnt braking any US ATF laws but there is a high probability that the item will be taken by Italian customs. Its not worth the issue unless the buyer accepts responisbility
  10. I would have to say no. We cant ship them from the UK and its in the EU unless its a dealer. Italian law is wierd. You also have ITAR and thats another kettel of fish. If I was in your situation I would decline unless they were a firearms dealer and supplied a copy of there dealership paperwork. You dont want issues from the ATF.
  11. Its a load of hoops paperwork . We are restricted to 24" overall legnth firearms and no semi auto other than .22 rimfire. (Unless you have home office export paperwork for section 5 weapons. Think you guys call them class 2 and class 3 in the US) Presonally im more of a collector so when I do open a store Im going to go down the old military rifles (lee Enfields, Negants, Tigers ect...and section 5 for dispatch and section 7 collectors pistol route. Basically guns with proven military histiry for export and section 7 permit meeting historic requirement . Just need to do my time as an agent fir
  12. On a bonus when I got back in the UK I had a message on my phone from the local PD passing my paperwork to work as an agent for a local firearms dealler and transportation agent . Hopefully after another 12 months I can put my own paperwork in and open my own store:)
  13. You mean the chicken ranch? No we got in a taxi and the driver suggested it or another club he was on about called Red rooster. The wife wasnt too impressed :/ Mabe I can work on that for next time ? NOT >>> I dont think the wife would let me survive
  14. I will be back, If I can pursuade the wife I would open a store in the US and live there. Im only 30 and sure health insurance wouldnt be an issue. Just need to work on the wife to move What is Obamacare? I was speaking to some US marines outside the Leatherneck club Las vegas and they mentioned a proposal called Obama care but didnt go int to it too much. Is is like UK national insurnace via pay (pre pay cheque?)
  15. LoL . I know nothing is free. I pay £128 a month out of my pay for National insurance. I did the main full auto guns. I have shot Uzi's, MP5's and Glock 18's before (In the US and other places. I also work for an RFD (Registerd firearms dealer). This time I just did AK47, M16, Kriss super V ( Which would beat the MP5 Hands down if they got the extraction issues right). After that I did the Thompson, M3 submachine gun, Mac 10, Mac 11, M 60 and a FN P90. I mostly spent all my cash on pistol shooting as in the UK we are limited to 12" barrels on pilstols. I did a Smith & Wesson 686, Kimber pr
  16. It was great. The only down side was mid holiday the wife ate a burger at wendys and got food poisoning. The MGM called her a paramedic who insisted we went to hospital. A 4 hour trip cost us $6000 up front and we are waiting for the bill from the lab for blood tests and a doctors fee. However we are insured so will get it back. Dont know how you guys go on with the medical bills over there. They dont bill at all in the UK as you pay national insurance via your pay so all medical bills are free except perscriptions that are £7.20 each (about $11) or if you need regular perscriptions you can pay
  17. Cheers guys for the trip advice. Did 4 days in the MGM and visited the Las vagas gun store. It was good but American Shooter in Vagas was much better for ammo prices ect.. Then drove to Santa monica visiting a range on route. Califonia gun laws are quite strange though? LA was a bit of an eyey opener. Went for a walk to find a bar about 11.30 and a police officer stopped and told me I really shouldnt be walking arround that area at night as tourists get eaten for breakfast ? (He has obviously never been to liverpool). However he was kind enough to give me a lift to a bar. Caught a Lakers game
  18. Gun store is superb. Love the full auto fun. off to another one called American Shooters tomorrow to have a few hours handgun shooting. Should be fun as it was 1997 when the UK government banned it so you guys are very lucky to have the 2nd ammendmant..
  19. Great, I will have a walk down the strip and catch the bus to fremont St for the light show. Cant wait 5 hous and im off
  20. Might have to do that. Im currently running a saiga 7.62x39 and the wife a saiga .223. However I have a Vepr 12 on order We can only own semi auto .22lr or shotgun in the UK all other guns are straight-pull or bolt action. Its strange you guys can get semi auto but cant import saigas in mil-spec or with moderators. Still wish we had semi-auto cf rifles though
  21. Cheers, I will go to the Bellagio. Its been 3 years since I was last in Vegas an I didnt really do too much tourist stuff. I just gambled and spent the rest of my time on the range. I did do the Hoover dam and that was superb. However as with most places you only here about stuff when your holiday ends. Im not going to miss the pinball museum this time. Rgs Chris
  22. Ok, Im off to Las Vegas tomorrow. Anything I shouldnt miss? Rgs Chris
