  1. We shoot Practical Shotgun (psg) here in the Uk with 10 match stages ,round counts from 7 to 40 so lots of reloading. Two seasons Iv been competing using an M2 & have now on order 2 Etac's saiga's , im convinced this is the way forward & will be shooting these through out Europen comps next season.Plenty of Saigas & Veper's at local matches but no custom race guns yet.Should be interesting to see if i move up the score sheet.

Like most i can shoot well but the tube reloads let me down even with practice.I'll be in the Open div so have added every extra possible !

We have to carry 60 rounds on some stages , any one built a speed rig with the mags upright facing forward ?

Are any of you shooting dedicated shotgun matches ? or are they all 3 gun ?.

  2. but a lot of us are willing to shoot anything & traveling over to Belgium to semi auto's is now quite popular even though were all in the EU they have slightly better gun laws than the UK.

well, current legislation in Belgium is actually looking up.

there are even a few extra softing up of the law in the works, to make it easier to shoot IPSC and other practical sports. (you used to have to jump a few extra hoops for that)

My club go over to Coppensports quite a bit , its a long way to go but great fun to be able to shoot a handgun again !

Do you belong to a Club ?? id be very intersted in arranging to come over for a friendly shooting competition/range day .Practical shotgun is our main thing but we can all just about shoot a rifle & handgun .

    Pm me if intersted.

  3. My view over here is that we dont have one voice like your NRA, when semi auto rifle & all handguns were banned the bulk of shooters were prone bolt action rifle shooters & shotgun clay busters & as such were not to bothered when another disipline was lost so long as they were allright.

I can remember getting $ 200 each for a semi Uzi, M1 garrand, 44 automag, 45 auto & an M14 off the police when we were forced to hand them over.

As a "practical " ( thats IPSC to you lot ) shooter iv had to addapt over the years from handgun to rifle to now semi auto shotgun, sure we can have single shot straight pull AR & AK rifles & stupid revolvers with 12" barrels & a fixed wire stock sticking out the back , but a lot of us are willing to shoot anything & traveling over to Belgium to semi auto's is now quite popular even though were all in the EU they have slightly better gun laws than the UK.

Shooting is not dead in the UK , just hard to find .................

  4. Ok so im awaiting 2 Etac saiga builds for use in Ipsc competitions & am now thinking of making a chest rig to hold 4 mags, i need them to face forward & held by some clamp/clip so its just a case of pull forward & up into gun.Has any one built such a speed rig ??

  5. Yes its a weaver rail .......... however dont buy that model ( unless you allready have ! ) for use in PSG thats IPSC for you Americans reading this .... you need 6 mags to complete and those mag well models are £ 79 each ( $ 158) & the cheap USA mags wont fit .However the basic Saiga can be converted with all the nice practical go faster bits & a stack of USA mags for not much more than the model your looking at. The Shield tournament at the end of this month would be a good starting point to look at various modifications. PM me if you need more info .

  6. Hi Tony, im looking to move up to "open class" Practical shotgun ( or IPSC as you yanks call it ! ) & was wondering if you'v sold any of your conversions in Europe ? we have various Saigas here in the UK but non are customised for tournament use.I called BATF & seems quite straight forward for me to import one of your guns once your taking orders again :dollar:

  7. As a long time ipsc shotgun competitor with a Benelli M2 iv just entered the open division with a standard Saiga 12.Iv been reading all the great info on this site & very impressed with the mods & conversions shown.Any of you that have visited the Uk will be aware of our high costs to shoot ...... my Saiga was $ 1200 & mags are $ 95 each ! dont even ask about 12g ammo , currently $ 300 per 1000 for cheap nasty stuff. The one good thing is we dont suffer your import restrictions & a whole range of saiga models is available ( at a price ! ) from rusmilitary.

Would any one know of a range arround Orlando that shoots ipsc shotgun ? as im over in may & want to escape the family's trawl through Disney !
