Hey guys so I recently acquired and installed a kns adjustable gas piston for my saiga .308. I installed it but since Saiga .308 pistons have no shelf on them, I didn't get the correct length to stick out. Now, my rifle won't cycle at any setting of the kns piston. Can one of you tell me (as accurately as possible) tell me the length your piston sticks out from the bolt carrier? or maybe school me on the correct procedure for setting piston length if there is one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Very new to the MKA, in fact its my first ever firearm. I have noticed that the gas regulator nut works loose after about 30 rounds through the gun. I have tried tightening it down hard but don't want to over tighten and strip the threads. Once it works loose the gun FTE quite often. Anyone else had this issue and fixed the problem or any suggestions.

So, a recent discussion on M1 Garand-specific ammo got me thinking about gas operating systems in firearms. The reason I had been told that Garands either needed specific ammo or an adjustable gas plug to avoid damaging their op rods was because modern ammo used powders optimized for heavier bullets in longer barrels, i.e. a slower burn rate. This, it was said, maintained higher barrel pressures for a longer time, putting more stress on the Garand's gas system than it was designed for. And that made sense to me. I don't know much about internal ballistics, but spreading the pressure out

How are these being installed. ??? Since they are only about $8 I was wondering do you just drop them infront of the gas piston and thats it? I'm surprise that counts as a part if your not removing any russian part. If that is all there is to it... Maybe I'm wrong? I didn't see this in any pervious post that I searched...

Is hitting the rear block the only distructive sign of over-gasing? 00 buck fails to eject on settings 1 and I'm wondering if I could get away with running it on 2. Any other signs to look for?
