ASSASSIN 1
Hi all I am thinking of mounting a scope to my mauser k98 and wanted to ask you guys what you think would be the best way to go about it? i dont like the scout long eye relief lok so thats out i have heard that the scope mount that clamps around the barrel and extends rearwards over the action is not too stable either so thats out too. i have seen the posp side rail system adapter but i would like a better option with the scope as close to over the bore as possible. i could usethe standard base and rings setup but i thought id ask first. also what scope do you guys think would look ok on a k98? (i was thinking of a po 4x24 with german no4 reticule) thanks assassin
Unknown Poster 5
On my two mausers a 98k & '95 i used the orginal stocks with the see-thru high scopemounts from Samco they were $15 or $16 dollars. I also used the military 3 post scope from CDNN it was only $29. To me these look really good and my 98k looks awesome with this setup too. I like the 3 post scope. BTW; I have to change the front base so the large ring scopemount would fit the small ring '95. The weaver bases worked perfect. Hi Unknown poster do you have any pics of your scoped mauser? sounds as though the standard rings and bases is my only real option. did you fit it yourself or get a gunsmith to do it? im planning on fitting mine myself assassin
