jtm087 0
just got a new side rail weaver scope mount, put it on and it wobbles left and right about a half an inch, is this normal?, will it effect accuracy? and can it be fixed?
G O B 3,516
Definitly NOT right. What type/brand? We need info to help. However if it is the standard "Belarus" mount, the locking lever has a star spine where it turns the locking screw. Adjust it to remove the slop. Does it mount from the front or rear? There are 2 different types, and the Saiga's take the one that slides on from the rear. G O B

G O B thanks I tightened the hex nut on the lever, now its all good! one more ? is it hard to zero your scope? do you need a shooting rest?
IndyArms 10,186
I would ALWAYS recommend the use of a shooting vise, or sandbags or some other STABLE rest for ANY GUN being sighted in... If you can LIMIT the movement... and shoot for a group... then you will know ( if it groups) which way to move the point of impact for a proper zero. Sighting in is not hard, but there are many subtle tricks that can change it from an ammo wasting, frustrating experience, to a quick, easy, ammo saving, "holy fuck that was easy" experience. Some advise... USE the BIGGEST PAPER you can find, or a sheet of plywood if ya got one handy...Start at 25M, zero, go to 50, re-zero, then to 75, re-zero... and then out to 100... if you need to go that far... the trick there is to move in small increments... and have a large backstop so you arent wondering which way you missed, when you dont hit the target the first time...
