pogy 5
If you are looking for a new 20.5 inch barrel for $220 with shipping and tax included, it's gonna be tough. The used one's I saw are going for more. On Point Supply has 16.5 inchers for $216.95 http://www.onpointsupply.com/cart.php?targ...ategory_id=1549 Edited November 7, 2006 by pogy

pogy 5
You said Dragunov so I assumed you wanted the longer barrel. I'm not the one to ask about relative accuracy. Try searching this forum. Good luck.

longhunter-CO 0
If you are trying to dupe a Dragunov have you considered a .308?
AKMIKEFMJ 0
I got a 20 inch barrel Saiga in .223 for $260 at a gun show. I then did a pistol grip conversion. Saigas are very nice rifles. I have four of them.
gahau 0
If you are trying to dupe a Dragunov have you considered a .308? see yea i did but i dont know the difference btw a 223 and a 308 are ammo more exp for the 308? does it have more of a kick?? can someone sumerized it for me please lol i can understand small ammo but for rifle ammo i am kinda clueless i just thought that the 223 was more popular cheaper and i would be able to shoot it indoor
Deadeye008 2
The .223 is cheaper, has less recoil, and is fairly accurate out to 200 yards which is the range you said you wanted to shoot out to. The .308 is a bigger caliber and infact is the most popular "sniper" caliber used by the U.S. It is more expensive than the .223 and has more recoil but its range is about 4 times that of the .223. Snipers have shot people at over 1000 yds with the .308 round. If you are planning on just shooting out to around 200 yds then get the .223 because it is cheaper and the rifle itself is cheaper. I don't know if you'll be able to shoot it indoors though. I imagine it depends on your local range.

To me it's hardly noticable. (My dad's M14 will leave a bruise.) The kick from the .223 is even less.
