If you were to buy an AK build from Red*Jacket or Vector ( a U.S.A. manufacturer).

is it then considered a U.S.A. made riffle? free to do as you please.

or is it still considered an an import?

If you buy a rifle from a reputed manufacturer, most all of thje firearms (unless they're preban) will have the appropriate number of us parts. Go to a gunshow and take a close look at the AK's on the tables. I can almost guarantee the pistol grips will say 'US'.

if you purchase a rifle that does NOT have the necessary compliance parts, then I would seek legal counsel or return the weapon (once again, unless it is a preban weapon). I would NOT do anything to change the gun, because then the potential liability for manufacturing and illegal weapon may fall on you.

In all honesty, 922r is not a big deal, it's not something that you're likely to be busted for, but if the ATF decided they wanted to go after you for any reason, you may be seeing life in 8'X10' for a while.

I'm not a lawyer, these are just my .02. YMMV etc.

Thanks! thats why I posted the question man!

I don't want to borrow trouble. (as stupid and redundant as it may be)

but I'd be cool swapping out k-var a stock (US) for a tapco (US) correct?
