You can replace the front spring with one from a Colt 1911 pistol. I did this on mine and it made it run MUCH better. See if you rear spring can be salvaged. If it's just "bent" then bend it back. It's just a spring and it IS on a guide rod. It bends into a coil anyway when compressed.

my brother had it before me (he coulf f&% up a wet dream) he gave it to me saying that it wasn't fireing right. i think that he cut some out of the front spring the ends ar mared up and same on the rear spring. Hens weekening the spring and then bend and snap. this aint the first firearm that he mest up. he fubar'd a cetme that i now have, TLC and $200 and shes good as new. I like the s-20 so I want to fix it.
