mtberen 0
I want to make my s223 look like and old-school ak-74 (and not with bakelite). Pics would be appreciated, would like the set to be US compliant if possible. Email me at mtberen@izoom.net
dinzag 31
Check out these guys - Ironwood Designs. They have parts in stock and all are US made. Check out their photos section too. Cheaper than a set from K-var as well... Then there's BattleRifleG3 too...
BattleRifleG3 16
Ironwood has standard patterns at good prices and readily available. Mine are custom made to buyer's specs and have multi-month lead times. Another key ingredient to an AK-74 style front end is the hardware to accomodate the shorter handguards. You can either press off the gas block and front site and install a regular retainer, or for a no-gunsmithing solution see Dinzag for a clamp-on lower retainer. The rear end conversion to P-grip goes without saying. If you're not sure what that is, see threads on doing that conversion. It's extremely popular.
