gandog56 0
I'm a fairly new Saiga .223 owner, and it seems that every 30 round magazine I see for a Saiga says it was modified. Did/does Saiga ever make a thirty round clip for this rifle. Or just the 10 round clip because it was designed to be a "sporter" rifle.

Izhmash does make larger cap mags for the rifle just that in its "sporter config" 10 rounds max cap. Drop you imported parts count by conversion or replacing FCG, Gas piston, furniture with USA made. Read the thread about 922 compliance.
inparidel 4
I'm a fairly new Saiga .223 owner, and it seems that every 30 round magazine I see for a Saiga says it was modified. Did/does Saiga ever make a thirty round clip for this rifle. Or just the 10 round clip because it was designed to be a "sporter" rifle. First. . .Only M1-Garands have a "clip." All other high cap sporter rifles and pistols have "magazines (mags)." Also. . .if Saiga made a double-stack, high cap MAG for the gun, it would not be importable under the fabulous (worst anti-gun legislation in US history) Pappa Bush, 1989 mil-type gun TOTAL import BAN, which was not an act of a Democratic congress. . .but it flowed from the pen of G. Bush Sr. and his own excuse for a brain in the form of an Executive Order!!! (again, NOT an act of congress). So. . .No. There ARE NO factory high-cap MAGS for the S-.223. I have MODIFIED many 5.45 x 39 mags, as well as MODIFIED Israeli Galil .223, 35 and 50 rd MAGS. There are a bunch of Bulgy Waffle .223 mags out there to buy--as well as E.German Wieger steel mags in .223 (for NATO export, but abandoned as E. Gernamy fell with the rest of the Soviet Union), which I have a bunch of as well, but you will have to mod the gun--that is, return it to its original AK-101 grandeur. Bro. . .scour the Internet, and you will find what you seek, in terms of gunsmith mods for the gun, as well as modded and unmodded MAGS that will fit your Russian sweetheart. We all did the "rite of passage" for the grail. It's your turn. We will help you along the way, grasshopper. Good luck! Edited October 13, 2007 by inparidel
