ctd 20
I was thinking it would be fun to put a suppressor on my saiga,it would also stop my ears ringing when out after goats. Would a 7.62x39 with a 16 in barrel cycle subsonic ammo? If not could one be made to? The local shop says that they normally shorten ak barrels by a inch or so when fitting a suppressor, would this affect anything with the saiga?
ctd 20
Bump I was wondering why no one had any thoughts on the post and a friend said what I am thinking about would be v hard to do in the states. I am in New Zealand so things a v diferant down this way-for both good and bad. Good- We are encouraged to have suppressors on our firearms=cheep! new .22 suppressors for $15 anyone? - No min barrel length Bad- we are not allowed mags larger that 7 rounds on a semi auto centerfire - no pistol grips - no folding stocks So after clearing that up does anybody have any ideas? if it wont cycle could I just open up the gas port from the barral? or would I have to lighten the bolt caryer as well? MODS if you feel that it would be "wrong" for people to answer my questions please could you deleat the thread
kresk 10,063
Think many of us would plead ignorance as subsonic 7.62 is not generally available in the US, but perhaps someone out there has some experience to address your inquiry.
cpileri 0
7.62 x 39mm M4 Jackhammer http://www.srtarms.com/ebr.htm 7.62 x 39 Subsonic General Description: 7.62 x 39mm M4 Jackhammer. This new EBR round is designed to feed and function M16/M4 weapons in this caliber in both semi and full auto. It utilizes a proprietary EBR 220 grain FMJ projectile. Also works in Kalashnikov weapons with slight ramping. Cycles both weapons with or without a suppressor. Independent testing has given sub-1/2 MOA accuracy at 100 yards using aimed, semi automatic fire. Light recoil and enhanced controllability make this ammunition extremely effective in full automatic mode. 7.62 x 39mm (500 Rounds, 10 Boxes of 50 per case) 1 box, $78.00 2-5 boxes, $72.00 6-9 boxes, $68.00 10 boxes or case, $625.00 or $62.50 per box
gunnysmith 4
I use 147 gr 9mm bullets for subsonic loads, that cycle the action Have you considered heavier bullets for the Ak
