GoAF 0
I was wondering how well a weaver rail will re-index when you take a sight off, and then put it back on. I have a red dot sight sighted in for deer hunting, but would like to take it off for hunting ducks. I will not have a chance to sight in before hitting the deer woods. I can't dee it being very far off due to the relitivly inpreciseness of the red dot type sights. Any imput would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys
Bvamp 604
well, i shoot with a red dot on a ULTIMAK rail with a weaver rail on it, and Ive taken the sight off twice already and its been fairly true after putting it back on, but not EXACTLY perfect. its damn close though. the ranges I shoot at are anywhere from 5-50 yards though, so Im not really sighted in with that gun for 100 yards. GoAF 0
Like an inch or two?
Bvamp 604
yeh, under two inch at 50 yards EASY. nothing like a foot off or anything.
GoAF 0
It's coming off. The dot dissapears against the bright sky. Thanks
Bvamp 604
when yer done with your ducks, just shoot a single slug out of it after you pack it up for the day is all to check it, like at a paper plate or something. it shouldnt be far off at ALL.
GoAF 0
Wish I could, but it the landing we use is not ours and there is no way to do that. Oh well, looks like I'm going to cave and get a Benelli Nova 12ga.
Bvamp 604
it should still re-index as good as or better than the typical russian clamp-on siderail mounts out there.......
