b2673ad 0
Hello I have been lurking here for about 4 weeks and reading the posts about AK's & Saiga rifles Here are my questions How often do normal law abiding citizens get their rifles spot checked for compliance by the ATF- Gamewarden or police? If I take my rifle to the range 4 or 5 times a years and follow the rules am I going to get busted? If I take my new rifle and add the Tapco Galil style handguard ( 1 part) & use the Surefire 30 round magazines (3 parts) do I meet the compliances parts numbers? What if I leave my rifle as I bought it but use the 30 round Surefire magazines? Am I in violation of the compliance laws? From SaigaStocks I purchased one of the Tapco M-4 type six position stocks with the pistol grip. The stock says Tapco so I would say it is one part & the handle is an unmarked no name. If I install this combo I should get at least 1 additional compliance part. I am not really sure I want to install this type stock & may switch to the factory skeleton stock for a more traditional look. I know this subject has been beat to death but if anyone has some insight please pass it along. Edited February 8, 2008 by Kevin C
Leo.Kermes 1
http://www.vikingkittyarmory.com/policy/922rCompliance if its not stamped USA don't count it as a compliant part.

If I take my new rifle and add the Tapco Galil style handguard ( 1 part) & use the Surefire 30 round magazines (3 parts) do I meet the compliances parts numbers? Given that you didn't add anything else to your stock Saiga, yes, 4 compliance parts is enough. What if I leave my rifle as I bought it but use the 30 round Surefire magazines? Am I in violation of the compliance laws? Yes. You would be 1 US made part short of compliance. Edited February 8, 2008 by 22_Shooter
b2673ad 0
Hello I guess it looks like the hand guard is going on with the Tapco stock & the Surefire magazines. Kevin
22_Shooter 1,560
Well seeing as how you're doing the conversion, compliance is easy. The US made FCG is 3 parts, add that Tapco butt-stock, and a US made PG, and you're set. Then, you can use whatever mags you want, US made or not.
