Rustynuts 3
Once I get my conversion done, I'd like to do the moly resin. How does everyone bake it on? Do you need to take off the barrel and tube, or OK to do the whole thing if it fits in the oven? I assume you need to leave the FCG out when you bake! Do you coat the barrel and tube also with moly, or leave stock? Do you coat misc parts like the BHO? One final Q - What do most people do with the fire selector switch? Just let it ride as in the stock version and scratch the heck out of the new finish, or is there a "nicer" way to setup the selector switch?
rocinante 100
Do not question the Kalashnikov safety scratch around here. It is a sacred manly thing kind of like a german officer dueling scar or something. Consider it a beauty mark (I don't like it either) You don't have to take the barrel or tube off and it will fit in an oven.
TonyRumore 1,332
I would suggest leaving the gas regulator detent spring in place, as well as the mag catch spring. Then bake at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Anything above 250 degrees will start to sack out the springs. Tony
Rustynuts 3
Thanks all, can't argue with Tony! Didn't even think of those springs. Now what's a good match for the S-12 in moly? Glossy, semi-, or black flat? Edited February 26, 2008 by Rustynuts
Rustynuts 3
Come on anyone on the moly color? I need to order my stuff so the build can continue? I'm thinking it's between the Gloss and Semi-
