What Tactical Barrel Mount are you using?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for an inexpensive barrel mount for my tactical light.

I have it on my AK side mount rail currently and it gets in my way. (Top mount is in use.)

Any pics would be a bonus

I wish someone would come out with something like one of these that would clamp to the barrel.

Just turn it upside down and presto!! A light rail.

I have looked at both of these and there is not enough material to enlarge the hole to 22.5mm.

Hello

When installing a BUIS on the front of my S12, I used a gas block/top rail from an AR10. Seems it was bored to 0.875". I ran some oddbal bit through it to get it 0.889 or something to get it to slide over and clamp to the 0.886" barrel on my S12.

For a light, I think a better idea would be to get one of those barrel/light clamp thingies they spew from China. I saw Tony Rumores S12 posted on here with the light mounted (I assume) using one of those clamp things, that's where I got the idea. His light was very low-profile to the barrel, and tucked nicely in front of the gas tube adjuster dial.

I was only able to use that on one of my S12's, however...On the one with the above-mentioned AR10 BUIS, the light only served to provide really top-notch illumination of my front sight. On my S12 with the Halo, however, it fit-up and works perfectly, since the front sight sits rearward of the front-end of the gas tube.

YMMV.....

I found this on on Armalite's website

The site says that it's bore is .875. and I think I could easily ream it 22.5mm.

That looks like what I used. I believe it was made by S&T or something like that.

I believe I got a 57/64" bit to bore it out, it fit perfectly. (like 0.890", I think...)
