rocinante 100
Sad situation for a country in ancient times was called the granary of the world. Plus the U.S. is buying Egypt off perpetually for peace about a billion a year.

Used to be the land of the Pharaohs, shows you how things can change if you dont watch out.

It's just a coincidence that 99% of all Muslim controlled areas have starving masses.
uzitiger 193
Have you ever seen a productive Muslim country? The closest thing would be Turkey but that's because Ataturk decided to westernize the country. They still aren't that productive but better than Egypt, Syria or any Arab country who are ruled either by a dictator or a socialist Baathist ruler. The Arabs have oil but they don't help their fellow Arabs and blame the poverty on the West especially America which they call the Great Satan. They fulfill the Biblical verses about Ishmael who the Torah calls a 'wild ass of a man' 'his hand will be in everyone else's and everyone's hand will be in his hand'. The Arab oil is the connection which allows them to make trouble. If Egypt wanted to take care of their hungry they could use the money spent on upgrading their military for another Middle East war on their poor.
