Diggler 0
What's the best rivet set for reattaching a US FCG?
JBONE 0
You dont use rivits for the FCG, you use standard AKM axis pins. JBONE
Diggler 0
Sorry... new at this. The trigger guard should be riveted on though, right? I want it to look correct.
JBONE 0
yes the trigger guard is riveted on, the FCG is held in with axis pins. Have fun!! JBONE
Diggler 0
So does it matter what type of rivets... Bulgarian, Romanian... or are these particular rivets pretty much the same?
red_cedar 28
I dont think it matters what kind of rivet so long as they expand and are of proper length, I used tapco rivets. On mine I used a selector stop and moved it forward to the location my other AKs are at. I had to do the rivets by hand with a small steel bar put in the receiver for a ' bucking bar' at least that is what I have heard it refered to as. There is almost no room in the receiver for where the trigger guard/ selector stop goes. Edited December 27, 2004 by red_cedar
avatar 4
If your not into rivets 8-32 button head cap screws work great and look good to.
Diggler 0
red_cedar, Isn't there a selector stop on the Saigas as they come from the factory? If not, it looks like I may need to order another part...
red_cedar 28
yea there is a selector stop but i was trying to have it look like my other ak's and free up space in the trigger area, I didnt want to snag gloves or something in there., my guess is the old selector is probably not in the way anyway.. just the way I did it and what I was thinking at the time Edited December 27, 2004 by red_cedar
