15rd. mags for saiga problems....

Recommended Posts

I haven't had a change to actually fire the gun with the new 15rd mags (from Carolina SS), but I did have a problem loading the mags with the shells.

I also had a customer have the same problem. It seems that after the 7th or 8th shell, it seems to catch on the backside and not allow for smooth loading. The first 7 or 8 shells....no problems, but the ones after that are hard to get in.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had this problem? I looked at the factory supplied mag, it does show a small difference in the width of the backside where the back of the shell rides against. Could this be part of the problem?

Any input would be nice...and thanks in advance.

I have not heard of that yet. The ones I tested worked flawless. What type of ammo is it? My first thought-sounds like a small burr inside that may be holding the follower up.

It does sound like a small burr. The ones I have load very smoothly.

You may also want to check the length of the shell, as some are longer than others, and they may be dragging at a certain spot in the mag.

At least try a different brand.

Oh, if you get to filing, these seem to be somewhat soft, so go easy.
