jcs44 0
Hey folks, What's the trick/right way to remove the rear sight leaf? I want to install a Mojo and I don't want to break anything either. Thanks, JCS44 Saiga M, 7.
kresk 10,063
You usually have to strong-arm the sight leaf off by pressing down HARD (with a small punch or screwdriver) on the leaf spring near the hinge and pulling the sight straight back and slightly upward to remove it. Ak addict 0
The easiest way I have found is to use a short flat screwdriver. Put your rifle in a vice supported under the sight. Put a little tape around the screwdriver blade to protect the finish. Place the blade in the grove of the rear sight right between the pins. Push, and I mean push, straight down. No need to pull it back. The sight will pop out slick as a whistle.
