He certainly was, that's A LOT more than I can say for 99% of the politicians we tolerate today. Taxation is now seen as just a way to keep the numbers from looking so bad that the people will refuse, so the losers in office can still finance their pet projects and ill-advised expenditures. Sure, they give lip service to acting in the taxpayers best interest, but the budget is ever-increasing with no end in sight. They have already spent our tax dollars many centuries in advance, on credit and it's all we can do to simply pay the interest because those in power can't break their addiction to deficit spending, welfare, warfare and waste. In short, we are being sold into slavery. If we stay on this path we are doomed. That's not fear mongering, that's fact.

 

Who has proposed reducing federal programs, power and spending lately? Very few. Conservatives are only interested in conserving their power, true fiscal conservatives are few and far between. Liberals are spending liberally, as usual. Tough sacrifices are need soon, but the people keep asking the federal gov to do more, interfere more and spend more. The founding fathers would be DISGUSTED at the current state of affairs. If others are not, they need a reality check. So do those who believe that any mainstream politician will act decisively to correct this problem. They are largely team players who only tow the party line, they do not act on our best interest or even based on our opinions. The bailouts are a great example of this, most were against them yet they passed. Any civil disobedience to speak of as a result? Nope, only the whimper of a demoralized citizenry.

Yes it appears to be quiet, but it is still early. What ever whimpering you hear will soon be drowned out. More citizenry still have not been pushed hard enough into the corner so as to really see what their made of. Let the powers that be strut and posture themselves. But reassure yourselves there will be a reckoning when all this talk is over.

Storm clouds are looming. The perfect storm is brewing. Political, Economic, Spiritual, Natural disasters, War. We know whats coming, just get ready. The sheeple in the stockyard states, east and west will be hit the hardest. Feel fortunate and value the time that we have talking and sharing together in places like this forum.
