waynebar 52
I've been watching this develop for months. Why would our government, or other countries governments ever use computer equipment from China without checking it for bugs? The FBI launched a huge investigation into counterfeit routers, switches, gigabit interface converters, and WAN interface cards, back in '08. Their conclusion was that "The threat is real. Compromised hardware of potentially hostile foreign origin sits within secure networks of the US government, military, and intelligence services." What do you guys think China would do first if they went to war with the US? Maybe use this equipment to wipe out our infrastructure, and disrupt all computer controlled communications? http://www.infowar-monitor.net/
Wotan1105 7
The Chinese hold so much of our debt it doesn't matter anymore. And I also can't say I have much faith in the Pentagon to keep their data safe. The Chinese have been compromising our networks and everything for God knows how long. Probably my entire life. It only took a few decades, but these days it sure looks like we need them a whole lot more than they need us. Also good story up today on the Chicom's kill weapon to destroy US carriers. https://www.usni.org/forthemedia/ChineseKillWeapon.asp

Why do you think the US government made IBM put up wall between the IBM parts of the plants and the parts sold to Lenovo a few years ago?
