understood. my problem is my access to a tig welder ends in june. i won't have money for the folder and stock until after then. Was going to weld on the back plate and trigger guard As soon as possible, and possibly some HK sights. and finish with the install of the stock after my transfer this summer. I know my next unit will not endorse me working on firearms at work, like my current one tolerates.

Sure.

Tony has a jig for the grinding, but if you just take off a little at the bottom you'll be OK. As I said, if you lay the thing out flat and eyeball the line, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks.... I went 90 from the bottom of the receiver. Tig'ed better than i thought it would. Filled in the holes while i was at it. Got excited while welding and forgot that when the tungsten is glowing white, that mean its hot and i need to pay more attention on not letting it hit my skin..... Also toying with the idea of welding on the DIY trigger guard. My access to a tig welder is for a limited time as i Transfer this summer and my next unit most likely won't have a tig welder.
