Frost 0
Last night I installed the folding stock on my Saiga 12 that had been gone for months getting work done. The Ace hinge seemed very loose after opening and closing a few times. Upon examination the hinge pin had dropped far enough to disengage at the top. WTF?? I tapped it back into place with a plastic hammer and tried it again. Same deal. Every time I open and close the stock the pin starts dropping. What is supposed to hold the pin in? Did I miss a step or do I have a defective hinge? Naturally this all happened about midnight so I could not call anyone.

If you can't send it back for exchange, use some really good epoxy to secure the pin, and give it plenty of time to set. Just make sure you don't get any in the hinge itself or your folding stock will become a fixed stock. WS
Raoul_Duke 113
I had the same thing happen to me. Just contact Tim Mourning at Ace Ltd. and he should take care of you. If I recall correctly, he sent me the replacement hinge before I sent in the defective hinge. Edited November 24, 2009 by Raoul_Duke

Well what can I say, sometimes I have a silver tongue. It was a little while ago, though. Maybe they've been screwed over since . . . Wow, I have never seen that happen to one! I guess that I have been lucky in this regard! I've got two that wobble when locked open. One is just a little but the other is pretty noticeable. I may send the more noticeable one back. I've got pretty bad luck when it comes to purchases, but I'm used to that by now . . .
