Hunting with your .223?

I'm wanting a Saiga 20" .223 to hunt predators with I wondered if anyone else uses one to hunt coyotes or anything else?

Well thats what I bought mine for.... Never could get the little buggers in close enough to take a shot, oh well maybe next year.

I use my 16 inch .223 for coyote and bobcat. With a 4-16x40 scope its taken em out to 400 yards with Hornady ammo. .223 is unconverted but it soon will be after I convert my new .308

So you are using a 16" to hunt with, what kind of grouping are you geting at 200 yards?

I have not actually measured the groupings. When we sighted the scope in we cut out a man sized card board cut-out and put it at 220-250 yards, paced out. In the center of the target I spray painted a 6 to 7 inch red circle. Once i could get all 10 shots in the circle with the scope zoomed in to 16x, I called it good. Did the same thing when I sighted in the 308.

I read these post about MOA 1.5 or whatever. I have no clue what my rifles shoot. All I know is the Army paid alot of money to teach me how to shoot and Im fairly confident that whatever I aim at, Im going to hit......for the most part. These Saigas are not snipers for sure but if you engage a target at a realistic range, youll probably hit it.
