MultiSlacking 102
I'm thinking about buying a light/laser combo for my S12, but I see some varying reviews out there. For example, one model said it worked fine on a small caliber rifle, but when used on a shotgun, the battery door would flip off and the batteries would fall out. So I was wondering if there were some recommendations from real world experience and *shotgun* use that others could give the thumbs up to?
ChileRelleno 7,071
Streamlight TLR-2, excellent product! I'm putting TLR-2s (light/laser) and/or TLR-1s (Light) on all my gear with lighting needs. New strobe feature available, as are pressure switches, mounting accessories and they have keys to mount on almost any rail system. Strong case, rugged, light, great toggle switch and both light;laser are very bright. Light is figging bright! 135 lumens, has excellent throw, main cone of light spotlights very well at 100yrds+, with the ambient spill lighting up the adjacent area. You hit anyone with this and they are momentarily blinded... Ask me and several friends how I know That spill would be the only Con, as the cone of illumination isn't adjustable, so you light a large area and advertise to anyone looking. Best bang for the buck! I'm going to trying one of their rechargeable flashlights for use in home/auto. .............................................. TLR-2 on side rail, toggle switch is right at my index finger. I now have the pressure switch, and like it less, much easier to use finger. Put the switch on my AR with TLR-1, I like the ergonomics of it on there... And since I've the TLR-1 mounted on the top rail in front of the FSB, the toggle wasn't as easily use. It was serviceable, but I had to change my grip on the weapon to utilize it. Edited March 5, 2010 by ChileRelleno
TYBOY 33
I would agree. A little pricey but it's aluminum and has a lifetime warranty if I remember correctly. I put one on my XD9 and it's awesome. The best deal I've had is with OPTICs PLANET. I don't believe it's against the rules to mention them and I have had good dealings with them on several occasions. I planned on picking one up for the Saiga when money was there. There are other options but "you get what you pay for" and I want it to work when I need it. Reasonably priced is more like it, shoot, look at any of the similar gear that is actually worth buying. Streamlight is priced right.
