Rear sling mount question.

OK, a dumb newbie question regarding sling mounts. Most pictures I see of Saigas with folding stocks, show a sling swivel on the side of the folding mechanism. What if any, would be the reason one couldn't mount a sling swivel directly to the side, rear of the receiver? I'm juss askin.

You can and I did it using the rear sling mount that came with the gun.

You can do it easily using an uncle mikes sling swivel for a wood stoc i drill a 3/16 hole on the left side where the stock goes into the receiver and let the"woodscrew" tap into the polymer of the stock simple; astrowrench

Or an Ace QD mount on the folding mech itself as discussed here could be mounted directly onto the reciever pretty easily, you could just use one of the leftover holes from the restoration. I really like the QDs on the shotgun since I leave the sling off for HD.
