sigmoidfletcher 0
Does anyone know which is the right top cover for the Saiga? The ones on mine fit very tightly to the receiver with no movement or flex. I want to add a Williams peep sight but want the option to go back to the original. Is there a source for original Saiga top covers? Thanks.

Onepoint 0
I have been using some generic blued Chinese ones that I had to file the front edge down just slightly to fit, and they are tight, tight. You can tweak the anglke on the bottom of the lip that sits in the slot of the rear trunion to make about any cover fit tighter. FWIW I had put on a peep sight last year sometime, it wasn't a williams but was similar. It sticks up un protected, be careful about carrying it slung or you bang the sight. I just got done making a peep sight from AR-15 parts so I didnt have to worry about it getting knocked off.

Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The RPK top cover from K-Var is the same as the original Saiga. It has no ribbing and is a little thicker. http://www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=211&1=215&3=
uzitiger 193
I added a peep sight to my top cover and love the difference. It increased the sight radius and eliminates one of the complaints about the AK/Saigas, the open sights. I hit my targets better at 100 yds with this sight.
