KoonceCustom 0
Hello gents, I have been lurking here for a while, but decided to ask a question. I am working on my first Saiga conversion, and I notice that it has a lot of slop movement of selector in the safe position. There is a serious gap between the top cover and selector when the detent part of the selector just clears the receiver. There is over 1/8 inch of free movement of the selector lever between the dust cover and receiver, which is different from all the AK type rifles I have had in the past. Firstly, is this slop typical of Saiga 12s? and secondly, has anybody done any bending of the top cover or altering of parts to correct a similar condition?
Spartacus 1,619
Totally normal. As long as the safety functions properly, nothing to worry about. There was (another) recent thread about solving the safety over-travel issue. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=51921 Welcome to the forum!
Lone Star Arms 2,047
Hello gents, I have been lurking here for a while, but decided to ask a question. Some people put an indented detente (a little divot) along the saftey path at the point they want the safety to stop at the safe position (and to prevent over travel of the safety above the receiver). Hope this is helpful
