Folding Mechanism for AR type Stock

Hey all,

 

I'm buying parts for my S12 Conversion. I want to have a fold-able AR stock on it. I'm debating on the standard ACE folding mechanism, with the the threaded bolt on adapter, or the dedicated ACE folder with the integrated AR threading.

 

I like the modularity of the standard folder, but it looks as if the dedicated AR folder is positioned slightly higher, providing a better cheekweld. Anyone have experience with this?

I really like the AR specific hinge.

 

Edited to add: I think the reason I really like it is that I run the stock collapsed down to the castle nut, or run a "stubby" fixed stock, because I need the shortest stock possible. Either hinge can be adjusted so the stock sits higher for better cheek weld.

I have the Ace AR style folding mechanism, with a CAR commercial spec buffer tube and castle nut. All from Carolina Shooters Supply. The setup works great, nice and tight if you use a castle nut wrench, I don't even need a cheek riser.
