red_cedar 28
Anyone who has welded, is there a better size welding rod to work with when filling holes or small amounts of welding? The choices I have are .094 or .045. Thanks
TonyRumore 1,332
For general AK Tig welding, I use .045. For filling holes .063"
red_cedar 28
Thanks Tony, The welding rod is a 3 1/2 percent nickle steel welding rod from Brownells. Suppose to take blueing pretty well.
Aust 10
What grade of Tig rod material is best for welding on sights etc?
poolingmyignorance 2,191
If you're welding to the dust covert use a 1/16 tungsten and .035" er70s mig wire for filler. And pure argon not that 50/50 stuff. Good luck Edited August 27, 2012 by poolingmyignorance
