captainchemical 11
Hi. I'm new to the forum and my S12. Lots of info here which is great. Here goes with the first of probably many quesions: What are the differences between the V-plug (5 position) and the Gunfixers (4 position) gas plugs?
JAldrich2008 28
There you go, you stated the main difference right there. The V-plug will allow slightly more precise control with its extra setting. Both plugs work great and are trusted by many people, you will be happy with whichever one you get. Angel King 0
I too am interested in the Gunfixers gas plug, any suggestions on where one can be purchased? CSS is out of stock currently :-(
jcmacconnell 25
If your gun already cycles low brass out of the box. I'd look at the TAC47 auto plug. I had great experience with it. Took about 1 full turn to tune to my gun and it works great. I have a lot of 8 round mag dumps with mixed federal birdshot, slug and buck. No issues. There is a video on YouTube how to tune it. Skitterfish 10
The only after market plug I have experience with is the MD Arms V-Plug and next to converting the gun it was the best thing I have done for it.
JohnInNH 0
I have a MD V Plug and the lighter recoil spring and I can shoot low brass Meg-a-low-Mart Federal (and hopefully the Winchester stuff too...) However ... the TAC47 auto plug really does interest me. The MD-V plug is working so I will just keep playing with it till I feel comfortable with the settings and what they do or don't do. Maybe if I could try one, or look at a blueprint so I know how it works. Does it need to be cleaned? Chance of failure? Can anything in it break.. Moving parts?
