essohbe 47
I made a bullet guide out of a brass fitting, it worked out pretty good and the metal is softer to work with than steel but is there any foreseen detriment to using this (like, do solvents oxidize it?). Thanks for any info...
essohbe 47
Guess I'll try it and find out...
rob-cubed 74
I would think brass is too soft and would wear prematurely on the lip where the bullet cases slam into it. I have an old musket with brass fittings that doesn't seem to mind gun solvent but I haven't let it soak in them. But heck, try it out. Just use blue Loctite in case you need to replace it in a few years...
DrThunder88 912
Any bore cleaner that removes copper will erode it some. Whether it'd be enough to notice or if prolonged exposure if it gets under the bullet guide would be worse, I have no idea. I don't know about wear and tear. Brass work hardens, so it might become stronger as it gets used.
