buttstock alternatives

Recommended Posts

Are there any alternatives to the monte carlo buttstock on the sporter rifle? I am happy with my rifle as is for now, I don't want to do any mods to it just yet. But I would like to swap the buttstock out for a skeleton stock or something else a little more comfortable. Any ideas?

If legal where you live, you can use the thumbhole stock from RAA.

Otherwise, it turns into a better investment to just fully convert it with enough parts to be compliant.

where can i get one like the one posted above? It is from post #13 of the picture posts posted by kymasabe i think. it looks like he didnt have to move the trigger up to fit it. that is exactly what I want to do.

Just so ya know that will require a bullet button in CA! If ya already knew that ...sorry for intruding...if ya didn't.....well....good luck on that one!

I live in the socialist republic of Kalifornia. I might just be too stupid to understand the gun laws here. does anyone know if thumbhole stocks are taboo in cali?009.gif

Thumbhole is the same as pistol grip in the PRK! AKA NO! in commiefornia!

well, this rifle is basically part of my SHTF gear, so it basically will remain stashed away. There aren't many places for me to shoot my evil gun around here anyhow, so it lays in waiting until it is needed. Or..........I can simply use the factory buttstock for range shooting and keep the other one handy. 022.gif

OK, I know that the skeleton buttstock makes the gun not compliant, so what can be done to make it compliant? I know there are threads all over the place with checklists and all that but I am very lazy and just want to see what any of you guys did to make yours compliant with very limited funds. I don't intend on messing with the trigger assembly unless a U.S. trigger group can be installed without moving anything forward. Like I said, I am lazy and have little dinero for new parts. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't want a US trigger group in the factory position. The factory trigger configuration is terrible. I would keep the gun factory until I had the money to do a full 922r/Commifornia conversion.
