DrThunder88 912
Has anyone tried Hornady Steel Match ammo in their rifles, Saigas or otherwise? I was paging through a recent catalog from one of my favorite supply houses and saw the entry for it. The listing also mentioned it was "New for 2011", so it may not even be in stock yet. I have noticed some of the bigger online retailers have it on their sites, but it is out of stock just about everywhere. The price seems pretty good for match ammo by Hornady, I thought I might pick up a few boxes when it gets in stock unless there is a bad reputation for them.
IndyArms 10,186
Hornady probably got a great deal on a SHITLOAD of steel cases and loaded them up with match ammo and are marketing them now...
DrThunder88 912
Very likely! When life hands you steel cased lemons, you make steel cased lemonade. I did find some .308 and .223 for sale at Sinclair Int'l. It's fortuitous since those happen to be the calibers my Saigas use. I'll give them a shot this weekend if the weather is good enough. blkgunlvr 31
I just got the Natchez Spring 2011 catalog in the mail yesterday, and they list the Hornady Steel Match in 50 round boxes. 9mm 125g HAP - $18.29, .40S&W 180g HAP - $23.49, .45 Auto 200g HAP - $24.99, .223 53g HP - $16.99, .223 75g BTHP - $19.79, .30 carbine 110g FMJ - $27.69, .308 155g BTHP - $38.29 I'm not that keen on the pistol calibers, but I'd sure like to try out some of the .308 and both flavors of .223 - the prices are certainly right if the ammo is accurate and clean. DrThunder88 912
That's where I first saw it too, but very few vendors seem to have it in stock.
