Boba Debt 350
I'm posting this because I need help and hopefully we can summarize all of the info into a single post that can be a sticky. I have tried to use the instruction sheet but it's like some questions to not correspond with the sheet and some question need clarification. If this works I post consolidated thread and then maybe a mod can stick it I'll start and if you think you have a better way of saying something let me know and I'll edit it. ___________________________________________________________________________ GENERAL INFORMATION You must submit the Form 1 printed on a single page, front and back. You must submit 2 copies but they must be signed in ink. You can not submit a copy with a photocopied signature. Do you put "N/A" in any area that is non applicable to you. Yes, "Izhmash, Russia" _____________________________ Question 4b - Type of Firearm to be made Spell out the type, do not abbreviate - Example "Short Barrel Shotgun" not "SBS" _____________________________ Question 4c - Caliber, Gauge or Size This section is self explanatory _____________________________ Question 4d - Model Saiga 12???? Correct "Saiga 12" _____________________________ Question 4e - Length of Barrel The length of the barrel as measure from the closed bolt face to the the end of the barrel. Yes How are muzzle devices handle in this situation? For instance, if I permanently attach a flash holder doe sit count toward the length of the barrel? What about muzzle device that screw on? If perm then count it as barrel. If removable, then don't count it in the length. _____________________________ Question 4f - Overall (Length) Total length from the end of the barrel/muzzle device to the tip of the stock in it's extended or unfolded condition if applicable. _____________________________ Question 4g - Serial Number This section is self explanatory _____________________________ Question 4h - Additional Description No clue, what's good to put in here? Just leave this blank. Some say to add any other marking that appear on the gun. Some say to add any additional calibers here. For the S-12, just leave it blank. _____________________________ Question 4i - State Why You Intend To Make Firearm No clue, what's good to put in here? "Investment and collection" or "For all lawful purposes" seem to be the two most popular. Don't try any cute shit like, "Zombies"...although it has been approved b4. There's some eastern state (I forget which) that has some strange policy that you can only use "research and development". _____________________________ Question 4j - Is this firearm being reactivated No clue??? No That's all I'll worry about for now Don't forget, you need two sets of prints and a cert of compliance too.
DINK 1
Regarding question 4j: The Form 1 is also used to reactivate a registered DEWAT (DEactivated WAr Trophy) and turn it into a functional firearm. Prior to 1968, you could buy a welded-up machine gun by mail order and they weren't even regarded as firearms. After GCA '68, these were required to be registered like functional MGs and many were. If you have one that's still welded up and inoperable you can file a Form 1 to reactivate it. Non-functional DEWATs transfer on a Form 5 (no tax). If you have reactivated one on a From 1, it will then transfer on a Form 4 (tax paid).
rjrivero 50
Also include a "Certificate of Compliance" or Form 5330.20. Some examiners require it, some don't. It's easier to just fill one out and send it than it is to get a phone call that says you need to send it out after waiting 4 months. Just sayin'. The over all length should be measured muzzle to butt stock with the butt stock FULLY EXTENDED. Edit. I'm an idiot. I misread your original post.
